I'm just a travel gigolo, & I go everywhere. When the end comes, I'll know, life was full for me.
Just found this Channel… LOVE IT!!! I’m definitely gonna build my own and get out there… i hear shipping from the UK is quite simple.. Advice for a first timer guys… Is there a way to find people going on a trip/adventure then try to join them or that’s not really a thing??
Hi there, it's not possible to do it in one day within daylight hours. The direct route is slow going with a lot of unpaved road. It's at least a two day trip in daylight hours. I would not recommend travelling in the dark due to livestock, animals, and people walking on the roads at villages. Also you would not be able to leave Hwange before the gate opens, and get to Mana before the gate closes.
I would recommend staying at Matusadona National Park. It's about half way and definitely worthwhile. I did a video on that as well. The Campsite is called Tashinga.
I absolutely love your presentation style & skills. A very enjoyable watch, gave me all the information I need and I can happily say I'll 100% be buying this... when I can afford it!!! Take care brother ✌
Hi guys, this video was just bought to our attention, and i wanted to say......thank you! wow. what an amazing view of our beautiful sanctuary. you have made my heart full and so happy, and i have a renewed love and appreciation of my own home, ....☺thanks to you. thank you for appreciating what we do, what we offer and how we protect the reserve. conservation first! always. seeing MSP through your eyes has been beautiful for me. i thank you, deeply and hope to see you , and more videos, real soon with love and appreciation Stacy Owner of MSP
MSP is the first place we went camping together so it holds a special place in our hearts! It's been a while since we visited, so hope to visit again in the future. We love the setting and all the work you've put into making MSP an awesome place. 👌🏾
Thanks for the video very helpful! Me and a friend are going to zim soon and are planning to rent a camping 4x4 for self safaris etc from bushlore. Do you have any advice about this? Thanks
Zim is an excellent adventure. I haven't rented an overlanding rig so can't really give advice on that. I expect the vehicle would have all the basics. They seem to be well equipped from what I have seen. You can see our setup in some of the episodes below: ru-vid.com/group/PLI6h1tIS-HLiFyqkUWlWtuUTo9uSEtH2L&si=NKxSLUT041MFcB96
Hats off to you guys - watching this 2 years post and SMH how you managed to do all that at the peak of COVID. I love your sense of adventure. Well done. For the record, have watched your other overlanding on time 🙂
Hmm 🤔 That's a tough question. It really depends on what you consider necessary for your trip. In terms of basics I would say check out their website gonarezhou.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Gonarezhou-National-Park-tariffs_accomodated-visitors_2018.pdf I reccomend you arrive with a full tank of fuel (about USD 1.5 /L), nearest town is Chiredzi about 30km away. Coming via Beitbridge border costs about USD 150 in various fees at the border. These rate may be outdated, but will give you some guidance at least.
If you're not in a hurry, it's about 2 hours from Maun to South Gate, and maybe another 3 hours to Third Bridge. It's only about 150 km or so, but it's a slow drive, especially once you're in the park. The mopani woodland is quite dense for most of the drive, and so you don't see much until you're close to Third Bridge. I wouldn't go from Maun to Third Bridge AND back in one day, it would largely be a day of just driving. Also you would miss the best viewing times, since you would be at Third Bridge in the middle of the day.
@@TravelGigolo I've made very similar dishes before and nothing beats a good ol Potjie. The last one I made was a Durban inspired Wagyu Bunny Chow and it was very lekker.
Excellent video and advice. Please could you advise where we can acquire one of rhe small tables you use. Nothing like it available here in Harare. Many thanks!
Glad you enjoyed the video. We got our table online from www.outdoorwarehouse.co.za/product/natural-instincts-compact-aluminium-table Seems they're out of stock of late.
I have been waiting for this episode for a long time thank you for posting , one thing i admire about you is your resilience , your patience and your humbleness. I wish to have some of your attributes as well as your skills ,the best i can do in a car is maybe change a tyre 😂😂😂 keep up the good work and the authenticity and hope as well as encourangment that camping is not about having expensive cars and whatnots but having the basics thank you
A huge thank you for the detailed informative videos! So much more useful than the dozens of wildlife videos! We saw the awesome little side table you have. Could I ask where you got this from as we would love to get one ourselves. Many thanks again.
Glad the video is informative. Our first purchase was from takealot.com but they're no longer available there. We recently purchased another one from Outdoor Warehouse www.outdoorwarehouse.co.za/product/natural-instincts-compact-aluminium-table
Craziest 48 hours of my life . Canon has tooooooo many choices ..if you're looking for ease of use this one seems super powered and I got mine insured for 3 years at 670. On Amazon
I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, O Lord, show this also to thy servant: whether after death, as soon as every one of us yields up his soul, we shall be kept in rest until those times come when thou wilt renew the creation, or whether we shall be tormented at once?" 76 He answered me and said, "I will show you that also, but do not be associated with those who have shown scorn, nor number yourself among those who are tormented. 77 For you have a treasure of works laid up with the Most High; but it will not be shown to you until the last times. 78 Now, concerning death, the teaching is: When the decisive decree has gone forth from the Most High that a man shall die, as the spirit leaves the body to return again to him who gave it, first of all it adores the glory of the Most High. 79 And if it is one of those who have shown scorn and have not kept the way of the Most High, and who have despised his law, and who have hated those who fear the Most High -- 80 such spirits shall not enter into habitations, but shall immediately wander about in torments, ever grieving and sad, in seven ways. 81 The first way, because they have scorned the law of the Most High. 82 The second way, because they cannot now make a good repentance that they may live. 83 The third way, they shall see the reward laid up for those who have trusted the covenants of the Most High. 84 The fourth way, they shall consider the torment laid up for themselves in the last days. 85 The fifth way, they shall see how the habitations of the others are guarded by angels in profound quiet. 86 The sixth way, they shall see how some of them will pass over into torments. 87 The seventh way, which is worse than all the ways that have been mentioned, because they shall utterly waste away in confusion and be consumed with shame, and shall wither with fear at seeing the glory of the Most High before whom they sinned while they were alive, and before whom they are to be judged in the last times. 88 "Now this is the order of those who have kept the ways of the Most High, when they shall be separated from their mortal body. 89 During the time that they lived in it, they laboriously served the Most High, and withstood danger every hour, that they might keep the law of the Lawgiver perfectly. 90 Therefore this is the teaching concerning them: 91 First of all, they shall see with great joy the glory of him who receives them, for they shall have rest in seven orders. 92 The first order, because they have striven with great effort to overcome the evil thought which was formed with them, that it might not lead them astray from life into death. 93 The second order, because they see the perplexity in which the souls of the unrighteous wander, and the punishment that awaits them. 94 The third order, they see the witness which he who formed them bears concerning them, that while they were alive they kept the law which was given them in trust. 95 The fourth order, they understand the rest which they now enjoy, being gathered into their chambers and guarded by angels in profound quiet, and the glory which awaits them in the last days. 96 The fifth order, they rejoice that they have now escaped what is corruptible, and shall inherit what is to come; and besides they see the straits and toil from which they have been delivered, and the spacious liberty which they are to receive and enjoy in immortality. 97 The sixth order, when it is shown to them how their face is to shine like the sun, and how they are to be made like the light of the stars, being incorruptible from then on. 98 The seventh order, which is greater than all that have been mentioned, because they shall rejoice with boldness, and shall be confident without confusion, and shall be glad without fear, for they hasten to behold the face of him whom they served in life and from whom they are to receive their reward when glorified. 99 This is the order of the souls of the righteous, as henceforth is announced; and the aforesaid are the ways of torment which those who would not give heed shall suffer hereafter." 100 I answered and said, "Will time therefore be given to the souls, after they have been separated from the bodies, to see what you have described to me?" 101 He said to me, "They shall have freedom for seven days, so that during these seven days they may see the things of which you have been told, and afterwards they shall be gathered in their habitations." 102 I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, show further to me, thy servant, whether on the day of judgment the righteous will be able to intercede for the unrighteous or to entreat the Most High for them, 103 fathers for sons or sons for parents, brothers for brothers, relatives for their kinsmen, or friends for those who are most dear." 104 He answered me and said, "Since you have found favor in my sight, I will show you this also. The day of judgment is decisive and displays to all the seal of truth. Just as now a father does not send his son, or a son his father, or a master his servant, or a friend his dearest friend, to be ill or sleep or eat or be healed in his stead, 105 so no one shall ever pray for another on that day, neither shall any one lay a burden on another; for then every one shall bear his own righteousness and unrighteousness." .....2 Esdras 7:75 ///////////////
Enjoying seeing Namibia again. Been 9 years since I was there. Thanks for showing your adventure along with all the troubles and keeping calm while finding solutions!
I really felt for you struggling with that fan as that is how I struggle when I work on a vehicle. I was however quite impressed that the last nut came off 😳, normally that never happens for me.
Thank you very much. Great review and thanks for helping me with my decision between the SX 70 and the SX740. I think this camera with the amazing zoom will be a better fit.
Another great episode... I would know because since I last subscribed on viewing your part one of this Namib trip I've went back in time to view your previous adventures in anticipation of this part two episode... Taking the wrong passport on your past travels and only finding out at the border was 😂... just Yoh Yoh!!! I think you may include more roas scenery + your music to add 10min more to the episodes... Great stuff Apex Predator and Vrou
Got me a Campmore Timbavati for 700 bucks second hand, used once. Me, im a solo camper, 1.8m tall iits more than adequate even though the height of the tent is 1.5. I prefer the D door, that zips across the bottom of the door, no slithery things can get in in my absence.... Or stingy / bitey / things for that matter. The fly is a different design and goes all the way to the ground all round. And has no front waning, which in my opinion is pretty useless as a provider of shade. So her is a tip..... 1.4 x verticle height.... thats the distance from yhe pole that will create a 45 deg with the ground plane. Now 45 deg is quite important, as it distributes the tension force of the guy rope equally between down force and stretch force... so make a chord guage... mark where the pole is when verticle tap a nail in there, run you chord ot at 45 deg, slam dunk uour peg in there attach guy hook onto pole pull slightly, same other side and tension.... See ! Im a solo camper. Know the tricks....😅 15:58
@@TravelGigolo HI ! Actually, the length of a guy should be 1.4 x verticle height + 600 - 700mm this will let you get hold of both the pole in one hand, and the slider in the other, then use your body strength to create proper tension. Cost cutting at the manufacturer. Once you peg at 45 deg the bloody slider's down at the peg, and you can't reach it, so you pull up on the slider, but this never leaves you with enough tension on the guy..... Not enough tension, high wind, canvas lifts, pole lifts, pole swings inwards at the bottom = catastrophe..... Pegging & guy ropes is not just as simple as one may believe.... I've made a study of it, and believe me you could do at least 3 video sessions.... The anatomy of a dog-leg <or> bent peg,, the reasons why it's made like it is, the mechanical differences between a straight & bent peg, pegging techniques, and guy ropes, and how to deploy them.....next time you up jhb / alberton side look me up, I'll be happy to give you all the Gen....... RGDS Warren BTW, I made tent pegs at one time...
Love the Namibian landscape. Been there many times but can not get enough. You are keeping us on suspense about your breakdown. Hope it was nothing you could not fix or got you both stranded. You should invest in a 12v ice cube maker. One of the best gear we have. It can be heaven sent during the summer months. Looking forward to the next episode.
The ice make sounds like plan! Going to look that up. We can run it while driving or when there is grid power at a site. Glad you enjoyed the episode. Namibia is amazing 🇳🇦
It was fun watching the two of you trying to changing the viscous fan coupling. And it looks like the fun continues.. We can’t wait for next thrilling episode ❤👍 great job guys!
You have really got me to take a keen interest in camping. Thank you Rob for normalising camping and making it accessible to those of us who didn’t grow up with the benefit of being able to go camping 😊
@@TravelGigolo - i thought your enunciation of a lot of the place names on your Zim videos was very accurate and i bet my wife that (like me) you are from the old country!
Average cruising speed is about 100 to 120 km/h on good tar road, and 80km/h on good gravel road. Fuel consumption is at best 15L/100 km on tar, at worst 25 L/100km in extended deep sand in Botswana.
Please can anyone help with a contact to book a campsite at Mana Pools, have tries all the numbers on the website, email and their Whatsapp number without response
It's difficult to get hold of the Botswana booking process and fees. You have to contact the relevant concession management and figure it out. Contact details are in the campsite reviews.
Great video Boet. I was always told if you change one coolant pipe best change all. Viscous coupling works with an oil(specific viscosity ) in it. You can change the oil in the coupling and fix the issue (check RU-vid). Heat in an engine sucks. Good luck safe travels.
Any small problem out there like a loose fridge connection is enough to mess the trip when you are hours away from the nearest town with no supplies. An Engine problem, for me that would be game over.
