Just a couple of Crazy Canadians who are touring around Australia in our self converted off-grid sprinter van. In June 2016 we sold our house, quit our jobs and left Canada to go travelling. That was when we became The Wandering Wagners! We have been on many adventures but nothing like the adventure we are on now, tiny house living! We work to support our travel but our real passion is helping people through our experiences and that is why we created this channel.

I really really like watching video's of families living in van tours. I like this because the child hasn't been put on floor or under bed like an animal. Great build
Maybe because she’s a regular person not an actor and not used to being in front of a camera and speaking when it was filmed?? 🤔 or maybe that’s just her voice?
Amazing!! I once had surgery on my throat and had to NOT SPEAK during 9 days. If you are a chatty person that is really difficult and also, I was 17 back then. But after a week I felt really peaceful and on the last day my parents who were looking forward to me not talking actually begged me to speak again. I wanted to continue a bit longer by then. I do meditate regularly but no longer than 30 minutes so that sounds crazy 10 hours. I do plan on doing more when I have some holidays. Your video is very helpful already 🌸 bless you guys and thank you 🙏💙 namaste 💜🕉️
Oh you are so sweet!!!! Must have been hard after having surgery and other people around you speaking! That’s amazing you meditate already! I wrote this for the college blog about Vipassana! Thanks for the message 😘 ccm.edu.au/vipassana/
OMG, you are talking about the (very practical, very handy etc) battery lights!!! Its a taboo among vanlifers!!! All the vans have to have absurdly complex electric system which is always breaking down. IT MUST BE!
I've done working holiday in Australia for 2 years and 2 years in New Zealand, I used to travel western to eastern Australia but I Slept in a tent haha now I'm studying in New Zealand but I want to full time live in the van. I just got my VW LT35 MWB 2006, wish I can build a one like yours haha
How do you pass WoF and get insurance with self-converted van? Do you need to get LVV cert first? I'm here based on New Zealand. Guess will be the same situation
Hi Audrey! It used to be on artlist but unfortunately don’t remember the name of it anymore and can’t seem to find it. So sorry, wish we could have helped you out more! Lots of love, Kristyn & Joe
Looks like this was a tough video to make. Must have been very tiresome having to keep tasting wine etc and sampling food too. Very kind of you to endure such hardships to inform your adoring public.
Hehehe @Neale very grateful for the opportunity to work with the tourism board and try our best to create content to bring tourism back to the areas that struggled!! Thanks so much for watching :)
Oh you are so sweet. Maybe the 11 unedited videos from early 2019 can make a resurrection of me throwing together all the funny parts! Thanks for your comment xoxo
@@TheWanderingWagners By the way, it appeared you guys thoroughly enjoyed all the different flavors of your vinegar-tasting adventure.....errr wine-tasting I mean. : D
I have a low roof and have no regrets...I don't spend a lot of time in the van once I'm parked...the gazebo goes up and I'm mainly outdoors...so the stealth is great...for me...and the low roof is inconspicuous when parked in the city...but everyone has their own priorities and likes and wants and needs...if i was with a partner I might like the high roof for the feeling of more space...LOVE LOVE LOVE the part of you wishing for more room at the end of the bed...that made me rethink my fold out click couch and a little more room at the end of the van...THANK YOU FOR THAT....what part of Canada?...I'm just east of Toronto...great video, thanks guys.
I do think sleeping more reduces hunger. Most people don't have that option most of the time, but it's a great strategy to use if one can. They say after 3 days the hunger is much better (on average). You guys did real good making it 3 days. Congratulations, that takes discipline. For people who have trouble and fail, they say trying multiple times can build up the willpower. So not giving up does work.
When people talk about fasting, I feel I have some information to contribute which I found, and it regards safety during fasting, mainly. Google "Fasting: The History, Psychophysiology and Complications", and it's a science article on the National Institutes of Health website. Click on 'Complete Article' for PDF file. It explains when to be careful, because people on certain medicines with certain medical conditions have to be extra careful. Also, it lists less common symptoms that might happen that signal to stop the fast or even to get medical attention. It is a very full, and I find easy-to-read article about the many aspects of fasting.
Thanks for the video, it's very interesting. I hope you keep making videos about your van. Things that would be an issue for me, that I'd have to think very carefully about for van life: Human waste and dumping (black tank type toilet or composting type). Being in location with internet connection (most of the time). Security from theft (probably can be handled mostly by where one goes / stays). Minimizing amount of time required for getting water (have large tanks possibly). I think I could accommodate other major issues people may have with van life, such as lack of room, varying temperatures. I don't think costs would be bad. Thanks again!
Can you learn how not to be a snob? 😆🙌 So many pearls of wisdom from Dr Chew! Thanks for recording this man and sharing. BTW hanging out for more adventures... Any in the works?
Lolol so good right! This is still my favourite video (minus me talking lol)! You know what we had 10 videos filmed from TWO years ago that are on the editing graveyard floor. Not sure if they can be resurrected but never say never! Thanks for watching, and if you want a good laugh our friend and haven’t checked her out before Julie Nolke makes funny weekly comedy sketches and actually posts videos! She’s amazing!
I watched this video to find out how they worked a car seat into the van layout, but didn’t see one. Does anyone have a link to their build? I didn’t see it in the video description.
Ah thanks so much for pointing that out! Their Instagram used to be linked but then they changed the name and we never updated it!!! So so sorry about that ru-vid.com Here’s the link to their channel and I have added it into the description!!! Thanks for reminding us!!! Xx
I love it!! So cool not to have a mortgage or rent payment!! I’m picturing you in a couple years with kids building a larger tiny house. Thanks for sharing! 💕
Yes it really was a great chapter in our lives. I think you may be psychic because that’s exactly our hope for the future. Thanks for the comment and your lovely words ❤️❤️
Lots of good points, traveling across the US is my goal, though it will be some time I want to see the sites even if I had to work while traveling I can take my home with me! My first choice was a van about the size you have, but a short bus came up for sale and it was a really good deal, so I got it and converting it. Perk about the fresh fruit, having your home with you, you can stop at any stand and not worry if something will be fresh if you have a long trip home.
