Farmer wasn't using / doesn't use a dragline; but yes, with multiple agitators the sand could be suspended enough to pump through a dragline. You have to balance the cost / wear of adequate agitation vs. dipping it out. No agitation system ever gets it as clean as putting a skid steer on the floor!
Why the excavators are always using their stock bucket and not a bucket with a bigger volume ? Teeth are useless here for this job,and thay could go quicker moving material. Could a bigger bucket would be supported by the machine ? I don't know about density of the material here.
Well, it’s fine sand completely saturated with water & manure so it’s heavy. When this sand & manure is still a semi-liquid & able to be pumped, you should figure a minimum of 12 pounds per gallon.
Started at 9:00 & done at 3:00. I get to different farms due to my job - territory manager for Meyer Manufacturing - and through connections at church & in the local community.
Doesn't pay for the individual farmer - can't spread costs over enough gallons to justify owning everything. Custom operator CAN spread cost over enough gallons...
Glad you enjoyed the video! Meyer puts quality ahead of price while still trying to be price competitive. We've got dealers in VA & I'll guess that you're in the Shenandoah Valley somewhere so check with Winchester Equipment, Beverage Tractor or Binkley & Hurst.
