Man I loved this show as a kid I had an old BB gun that was super hard to pull the lever the first time so I would cock it and then could easily cycle the lever multiple times to look like him 😂. The only problem I just realized was with this clip. He showed that he has that modified trigger so that it automatically fires every time the lever comes back set. So he would be blowing his head off every time he does a spin cock or loads it lol
Pat Moriarty is my second cousin once removed on my Dads side of the Family , a real bright intelligent man of Family history and relations , its Great to meet him to refresh the memory of family and friends Long may he live , Good man Pat
Hello Thomas. I just made a silly joke on the revolver trick video and just clicked to see who this person with an Irish name might be. Then I looked at this Lady's video. Just wanted to say that she seemed to have lived a very happy life and was clearly very loved and is missed. RIP Mrs.Anita. I see she visited Inch Strand. It is a grand place. She met the Pope. My own father is a retired Garda (Irish Police) and his job in the 1979 visit of John Paul ll to Ireland was to sleep in and protect the popemobile)) Bomb threats them days. Well there ya go. Regards. Jimmy Dempsey.
Maybe dangerous spin cocking a lever action rifle, but IF you only have one arm free and it is imperative to fire again it is a quick option. Used to practice it with my 94 Marlin.
You can spin it just fine as long as your finger is off the trigger, and you are in a good, safe location to do it. Plus, it’s fun! Do it with my .38/.357 H0006 all the time.
Love how Chuck Conners is yelling "don't do it" AS he's firing. Little late my friend. I know, I know.. he gave everybody a chance first but that clip is kinda funny.
Yea same tho honestly I wish I wouldn’t have seen that cuz it kinda ruins the kid factor for me like how does he spin cock it and load it to begin with without it firing
Saw Chuck Connors & Johnny Crawford at the Houston Fatstock Show & Rodeo in 1962. Needless to say, Lucas McCain filled the Houston Coliseum with gunsmoke!
Hi. I wonder if I am related to you. I live in Wisconsin, USA. I have the great, great, great grand daughter of Jeremiah Moriarty, from Inch, Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry in Ireland. If you could leave me a contact for you we can exchange info and also I have a picture from my late Aunt that shows the Moriarty homestead. Thank you for your time. Wortab23@yahoo.com Amy DeKeyser
Fun to try. I've got it down pretty well based on instruction from you, but it's slow going with my 8" barreled Rem 1858 ! I don't know how the hell Clint did it so fast with his Walkers, unless it was speeded up.
Twirling an unmodified Winchester will send your round sailing out of the open top and you'll at best end up with a cocked rifle with an empty chamber. :p There is a modification that can be done, though I've only read about it. Some sort of spring arrangement ... I like to spin my Mare's Leg when folks ask if I can, but it won't load like that. This is probably a good thing as ... well ... like the caption at the end of the video said ... ouch. ;)
have practiced this many times with non-firing replicas of Colt Navy's and thought, "Hmmm. Same weight as my 1911... Where's my Snap Cap?" YEARS LATER, still fumbling.
I wondered why they chose such an old model gun for the Terminator - it would practically make much more sense for the Terminator in the year 1995 to pick a more modern gun. Now it makes sense, they took inspiration from the old western movies and imitated them in order to capture the badass move, lol.
15 years ago Collectors Firearms dealer in Houston told me they had seen one of their lever actions thrown halfway across the store by a guy that in and tried this kind of stuff while looking at one. Needless to say, they guy was suddenly the proud owner of a new rifle...for better or worse. I still laugh thinking what that must have looked like.
