I just set up my tank. My fish will go in tomorrow. However after plugging the filter in, it is not working. Any suggestions? I set the tank up w water and decor so I am hoping I don't have to return the whole thing.
Hi, Julia! A betta fish tank usually doesn’t need an air pump, as bettas can breathe oxygen from the surface due to their labyrinth organ. However, if your tank is particularly small or has poor surface agitation, an air pump can help improve oxygen levels and water movement.
