Sustainable fashion is really important to me which is why I want to help my subscribers discover sustainable fashion such as thrifting, sewing and knitting just to name a few. Empowering people to make their own clothes eliminates the need for fast fashion which is a huge issue. Wether you're a beginner or advanced I hope you can find some entertainment from me and maybe learn a couple things. Let's make thrifting, sewing and knitting cool again!
If you realise that good quality yarn is about $25 a ball and it takes about 4 balls for a medium and more for larger sizes without the hours needed to make a crochet outfit, you’d be surprised how much cheaper it is to just buy this unless crochet is your hobby or job. Also that is lace stitches from knitting. Not fake crochet.
Crochet can't he done by machine while knit can. So , if an item is actual crochet, chances are that it was handmade but an awfully low paid crocheyer. So , yeah. Having knitted stuff is for the better
It doesn’t matter. Someone has to operate the machine and sew the pieces together. These people are still being exploited and these fast fashion brands should be avoided altogether for more sustainable options.
I love this yarn so much. Can you share what you’re using? I’m enjoying your content quite a bit. I wish I could train ride and knit. It sounds surprisingly enjoyable
Thank you so much! This is Black Cats Yarn sock base in the colours Lavender Town and Wyrmling :) its so fun knitting on the train. Such a beautiful train ride too!

@@KatrinaLashmar I have tried it before like I can do this chain but the over parts are so complicated for me once I tried to crochet a heart for my mum for mother day but I can't 😂
I think it is supposed to have certain qualities and not to “mimic” anything. Who cares if their garments are knit or crochet, it’s just a process but the result is what matters. I say it as a person who does all kinds of crafts. Just because you chose a more time and energy consuming method of creating something doesn’t mean that the outcome is somehow better.
The reasoning its silly is because crochet is actually much faster and easier to achieve this look. And this shop is fast fashion which means someone was exploited to make this garment which is why its strange to try to mimic something that can only be made by hand. My goal is always to encourage people to shop more sustainably as much as possible and understand the effort that goes in to our clothing.
What a fun topic! I’ve started getting interested in doing smaller projects and adding a little embroidery or double stitch (not sure if that’s the correct term) to some of my work. Playing more with color has yielded some great results as well. Not sure how you find all these amazing examples shown in the video but they are fascinating and inspiring.
My grandma knits on the bus. One time an older woman sat next to her, took her knitting from her, and tried to show her the "correct" way to knit (some faster technique). People are wild
Lol i feel like I already explained in the video I’m not scared of animals. And im really used to seeing bears on the trail near my house. They mostly leave you alone if you don’t bother them.
If their forests are being cut down and they’re being forced in to more urban areas and having babies they are more likely to get anxious and be more aggressive but i dont know your area. Also we have a lot of black bears where I live so depending on the kind of bear im sure there can be differences in behaviour like a Grizzly might be more aggressive.
It is literally just 2 chicken breasts!!! Grocery shopping is so sad lately 😭 at this point its almost the same price to eat out. The majority of my paycheck goes to bills and then the rest to food!
I mean. You can always put it up for sale with a detailed breakdown of the pricing on the off-chance someone is willing to pay. But it makes sense also to not monetize your hobbies.
And this my friend is why all businesses moved to 3rd world countries to take advantage of slave labor. So by making our own garments we are fighting against sweat shops. Yay!!
Your sweater is beautiful. Does this pattern have short rows? I don't like doing short rows so I would like to know first before I purchase the pattern. Thank you.
I love watching all crafts, so you just do you 🤩 As for good sewing tips, I can highly recommend Cathrine Sews RU-vid channel, she's got a really nice and down to earth way of explaining even the simplest things, and a nice format as well. I hope it helps.
