I really like the guy. I just wished he would acknowledge and. Re work Tiana. It’s a horrible redo. This can’t be what we expect all the new expansions to be like. Certainly don’t let the imagineers who did Tiana anywhere near this new stuff. Also the empty room in communicore. Mercy
Lou, I think the biggest issue people have is removing something so Quintessential and it not being a thematic fit, well thought through, or with the care that we’d like to see. I know personally, while I love the ideas themselves, it’s where they are going and what’s going away that I don’t like. And after being burned by the last few years of decisions, where Tiana’s “feels” like it is being shoehorned in, with technical issues, confusing story, and empty space, and where the center of Epcot feels worse than just leaving it as it was, I am apprehensive. Likewise, I have been disappointed that instead of updating some core concepts to the parks, they are being replaced all together. The exception to this is Test Track, and I have no doubt it would have made way for something else if Chevy wasn’t the sponsor. I’d love to see leadership valuing the parks as their own IP and breathing new life into them without thematic change on a budget.
Would have loved specifics about WHY Rivers of America and TSI for Cars, as well as what happens to Muppets ( in regards to where Monsters goes? Finally would love to know how he feels about balancing the history and legacy vs. any stuff that goes in and what it replaces. There is a feeling in the veteran Disney crowd that there is no value in its history anymore, yet I don’t think Josh believes that. Be curious to hear his thoughts.
They recorded this before any of that was announced on the Monday after D23 All of that was hidden because, unlike Universal right now, they outright don’t respect their audience/guests/customers Josh is just straight up withholding the information so he can be praised for what seems like a successful set of announcements knowing it would cause people to be upset Not the podcast’s fault
Wish they hadn’t hid the Rivers of America destruction announcement, feels kind of gross and casts a pall over an otherwise impressive set of announcements
I wish you could have pushed him a bit more on specifics - Disney's reaction to Epic Universe, the IP mandate for attractions, specifics on locations for the recently announced lands etc. Great opportunity but this felt mostly like a PR interview. But maybe you don't get to interview Disney execs like this if you ask those kinds of pointed questions.
I was adding a doctor's appointment to my calendar and there is a wdw cruise date on my calendar, what magical tech do you have hmm or is that you God?
Interestingly the day that Disney World first opened: October 1, 1971 was Julie Andrews’ 36th birthday. How’s that for a birthday present that she got to present the grand opening of Disney World?
Thank you for continuing the RU-vid experiment. It has made your content much more accessible to those of us that won’t join Facebook and do not have flexibility to watch these live.
during Supercalifragileisticexpealidocious, am I the *ONLY* one hearing in their head Melvin: EARNEST, were you *NOT* listening to the opening spiel? I *SAID NO* SMOKING!"
I’m hoping for them to announce a lot more info and an opening date for the avengers e ticket (that they have been promising us at California adventure since 2019)
Correction military ID needed to buy alcohol or tobacco. Both my sons purchased items without ID as long as they are staying at the resort. PX or BX prices, great prices for staying on Diseny and all food prices are very reasonable. Really enjoy the resort and thanks for the video
