Is that loch l that’s all I’m going too say on here about the loch can you tell me if it’s ok too fish it I used too fish it when I was a boy about 30 odd years ago I used too catch monster perch out of there
The "secret loch” is part of the SCG waters at £150 for your first year. Hardly going to attract the dedicated pike fisherman. Many better pike waters that are much better value with much better fish. I appreciate you guys also fish for carp so may well suit you.
For carp would suggest either going to Magiscroft or springwater which is in Ayr , for the trout either the white cart, Clyde in some parts or the black cart.
I remember a friend moved and when I visited he showed me a small an assuming stream near him, I told him to keep an eye on it late season and sure enough he phoned one day to say there was 2 salmon spawning in it, thank god for these places
Yes, I 100% agree because sometimes, when I am not able to get out to the proper places, I just head down to the little stream and fish it. Glad you enjoyed the video👍👍👍
Wish I had a camera man to bring with me! Great effort, I've tried loch etive a few times and never had any luck. Don't think I'm going to the right marks...
Shame man , loch Etive is a very deep water though so I suggest if you are boat fishing go to one of the fish farms around the loch or if you fish from shore hit the slightly less deep areas just before a drop off . Glad you enjoyed the video 🙌👍🎣
@@CastawayScotland there is some nice perch and trout in there jat a bit iber fished if ur free one time al take u to a small river not far from there thats loaded withe trout garantee u plenty off fish
I would say starting off you don’t want to get into the realm of fancy complex rigs , just start off with method feeder fishing . Method feeder fishing is probably the most easy way to fish for carp, you are just putting bait on a method lead with your hookbait and chucking it out there. You can get method feeders mostly in any tackle shop just ask an employee how to set one up and they will show you the basics . Hope this helps 😁
Really enjoyed the video and how excited you got. I am new to pike fishing and, in particular, deadbaiting. I noticed in the video that you don't use baitrunner reels. Do you just open your slack up on the reel to let it take it, then tightend it down before stricking?
Glad you enjoyed, I do in fact use baitrunners the ones I used in the video were the shimano 4000 size baitrunners . My friend in the other hand uses a fix spool reel ,what he does is just loosens the drag a lot to allow it to pull out very easily and then tightens up ,just like what you said . Hope this helps 😁
@Castaway Scotland thank you for your reply. I'm just weighing up if I need to purchase baitrunners from start or wait off and use what have already and wait and see if going to get into deadbaiting more. Bought new pike lure setup and keen to use that more this year, too. You could just go crazy buying gear 🤣💷💷
@Castaway Scotland only took up pike fishing in late 2022. Before that, I just fished for trout/perch, tbh normally just bait fishing. But I started getting a bit bored with that. Adrenaline, when you get pike on, is something else 🎣
Well played. In my opinion LRF and Fly are the only way to catch mackeral. I have no idea why people want to catch fish when their rod is so stout and so strong that there is no fight or sport in it at all.
I know mate , I also don’t understand why ? Lrfing if just so fun , you can feel the true power of the fish unlike these big rods that take the fight out . Glad you enjoyed 😁👍
no life jackets on lads, not good for your viewers to see, or for yourselfs if you fall in, numerous deaths on lomond every year, get life jackets, your lifes are more valuable than a few fish, tight lines
Well done lads nice fish bud I new the water right away can u fish overnight there merry Christmas and happy new year hope one day u get a 30 keep the good work up 💯💯💯👍👍💪💪
From what I have heard and also on the Scottish carp group website there is maybe pike in there just under 20 and also I think it’s about £150 for a year member ship for over 16’s (not 100% sure)
Thank you my friend , glad you enjoyed the video and learned something 😁👍. Just a little fact of DeadBaiting in case you didn’t know is that here in the uk anyway , we usually target them in the winter due to the fact that the pike take longer to take the bait in . Because of this we don’t need to be super fussed about striking to early we can do it a little later (make sure ur not waiting too long). In the summer we don’t DeadBaiting because since the fish are not as litharge the take the bait in almost straight away and we have to struck very fast. Hope this little tip/fact helps you learn somthing😁.
@@CastawayScotland I know you're in the UK lol.. We still have some open water near the dam where I live. Warm up next week and I'll be out with these tips. Thanks and I'll get back to you on my results. Cheers! Rob
