my BEST attempt at lyrics for this, lemme know if anything's off: Into the dark I wade in confidence, To bring the reverence, Upon a path away from ignorance, I'll raise the dead for this. (?) Blood in the water, Salt in the soil, Candlelight flickers While the wind speaks in whispers. A flock of sick decay and decadence, I need no evidence. Pious pretenders parade, now blasphemous, They’ve earned what comes for them, I’ll put an end to this. Awaken, oh spirit, surrender to me, I hold your sigil, your candle, your key, Let your bonds be released, Bring about sleep where belief’s obsolete, Please accept my offering, Forge this path with me. What trouble troubles you my beckoner? Do you need a reckoner? When all your wishes twist this listener, You lie, inquisitor, (I’ll put an end to this.) Sleep now, oh child, surrender to me, I’ll hold your spirit and your heart’s belief Has been well deceived By misgivings made in the pit your chest. Judgement’s cast with a devious jest, Finally, you will rest.
I love both of these bands and BTBAM has been my absolute favorite band pretty much since I first heard the Parallax EP. I went into this fully expecting their cover to be the one I preferred, but honestly (While I still love it) The Deer Hunter absolutely stole this for me. I only wish I would have know this EP existed and I had gotten my hands on it back when it ran. Amazing work from both bands!
Thanks for sharing this awesomeness. Never knew these 2 bands toured together, guess it's old news by now. Huge fan of The Dear Hunter and I'm thrilled you helped more fans discover them with these covers.
I see you like great covers of this amazing band .may I suggest auras in alias A Night on the Town..might be a good addition to your collection. These ones are magnificent!
I wish they had taken it a step further and covered their respective albums, I love both these bands so much and something like that would be amazing, even if it's very unrealistic.
The Tank - lyrics Eight wheels lusting for the lives of infantry (His bearings shift) His turrets turning from accountability (He takes his aim) "We sing our final song and soon this verse is over." He makes advances till his wheels cease to roll. His God is smiling on his cold mechanic soul. "His plot is perfect if it sees no contradiction." There is no sign that he shows a sign of slowing. You've stained your skin and I won't stick around long enough to count the hearts that hit the ground. So long ago...was I one of them? Your urgency hastened by his ingenuity It's just a matter of moments til your body is debris "So say a prayer" "His plot is perfect if it sees no contradiction." You've stained your skin and I won't stick around long enough to count the hearts that hit the ground. So long ago...was I one of them? And still he moves on arm and iron conquer heart and soul. and what of those in silent disconnect sundry souls akin in consequence begging for bliss beyond the pain Relief is just a turret's fire away Rapid Calm - lyrics Speak now old soul, distant breathing Your choice soon exists Speak now old soul, a choice will soon be yours Speak your time Darkness embracing our sun Darkness embracing our sun The rising smoke awakens me A crest for the brave falls in the fog A light shines from a distant land of ghosts They don't want you there They don't want me here Remember my name? The machine is crumbling A crest for the brave A light shines from a Enter oblivion Darkness embracing Our sun is lifting You'll soon give up on this world The rising smoke awakens An all white room, lifts me with its lights Nothing in focus. Curiosity is no more. Accept all we are given. It is all here for a reason A golden lever, a choice for gold or velvet Do I go on, or follow the robes in the smoke? Accept all we are given. It is all here for a reason One last search. Our shallow minds embrace this dream One last search. To kneel in the famine room One last search You'll soon give up on the world
So I don’t know Dear Hunter, and now I know that I NEED to check them out. I almost enjoy their version of Rapid Calm more! (Of course all praise to BTBAM, they are gods) Holy crap this is awesome.
Oh my god. This is awesome. I just wish TDH didnt pick my least favorite song on Coma Ecliptic though. Them doing "The Ectopic Stroll" would've been AMAZING.
Excuse me but Sir you are awesome for uploading this, LOVE this kind of thing however like you stated it was a very limited run so next to impossible to get your hands on if you weren't there.
Hey Bryan! Cave and Canary just put The Fox and the Hunt up for sale by itself so I didn't want to detract from those sales. I only uploaded it in the first place because I thought there was no other way for people to get it, but now that there is I want the band to have its day in the sun. If they stop selling it and do not plan to release it in any other form, I may make the playlist public once more, but once again, the only reason I uploaded it was to stop hearing people complaining it wasn't available (just as I did with this song and with the 7" split) so now that it's available, please support it legally if you can. I hope you understand!
@@MrMetal84 There is currently no MP3 for sale. If you go to Cave and Canary Goods, however, you'll be able to purchase the vinyl, which comes with an MP3 download.
Bring Me To The Lake Thank you for the response! I though F&H vinyl doesn’t have a digital download, because I don’t have a vinyl system, but def will buy a copy if it has the digital also! Thanks again and totally agree with you.
Ok i m going to take a wild leap and assume your favorite bands are BTBAM and the Dear Hunter... Seriously though great stuff man ,i had no idea about this
My friend told me about this recently, I hadn't heard of it before, but goddamn the Dear Hunter nailed Rapid Calm. I haven't listened to the Dear Hunter too much yet but I heard the original version of The Tank and BTBAM did a great job as well
