Picking up a stage 4 23 model at the end of September! Can’t fucken wait! Wish RU-vid would allow for links so I could post some pics, it’s a beast not one part of this bike is stock. Torque is where the fun is and the reason I bought it,
I have a 2017 FXDLS 10:5:1 compression fueling 594 cams screamin eagle mva heads bassani road rage exhaust bigger injectors av&v valve springs. Im only making 105 hp and 115 torque.
Another Grouse vid 🤘a tip for anyone out their don’t over tighten your rear drive belt you can easily run a main shaft seal and leak gear oil all over the place and you have to take the whole primary side off to get to it
@@dragonfire-jx7qx appreciate it mate, for sure definitely if your not 100% sure what your doing it’s good to take it to a mechanic to assure it’s fixed correctly
I don't own Harley-Davidson, but I really appreciate when people like you make videos like this. Extremely informative and helpful. That being said good Lord Harley-Davidsons have so many problems, you can rest assured I'm never going to buy one. I've put tens of thousands of miles on my BMW and I've never had a problem that I didn't cause.
@@TheDragonDelasangre it’s a love hate relationship! Once you keep ontop of the things that go wrong you can enjoy the bike but if you don’t know about them it can take the fun away! Thanks for the comment and watching! Really appreciate it
@@Livinvtwin Of course. Great video. It took me a little to figure out not to go to the BMW dealer. Now that I have the scan tool and a workshop manual I save thousands of maintenance. The BMW dealer really rips you off. And I know so much more about my machine this way!
Mate this was another great video and being a Dyna owner you nailed the common checks and problems like you said of course there’s more but for common external check this is great. Only thing I could also recommend is making sure the Shift shaft behind the primary is checked it’s bolt is tight before it comes loose and strips the spline. Love the video and looking forward to all the good things coming. Doing great videos!!!
@@danr919 thanks mate really appreciate the feedback on that one! I had that in the other video and left that one out as it seems so easy but can strip the Allen key head very easy! I don’t want to lead anyone down the garden path but that is one that needs to be checked!
This would be great for new Harley owners and owners who have experience with Harleys as there is always something to learn as new problems arise. Looking forward to your view on issues
@@danr919 definitely even as a mechanic an eye opener coming from a jap road bike to a Harley the amount of little issues they arise quite early. This one was one we were looking forward to doing!
@@Livinvtwin much appreciated, I live out in texas and I’m building a dyna lowrider s myself. Just bumped compression to 10.5:1 and threw in some woods 777 cams last week. The breakout sounds super similar to how my dynas loping now. It would be awesome if it was the same cam
@@ricardokenneth5792 something I’ve even looked at for the dyna! Once I get a couple other things done I will come back to the riders and probably do the same !
Great Aussie content guys! I actually got rid of my softail streetbob for a dyna low rider s. The new bikes are great, but I didn’t buy a Harley to own a refined motorcycle.
@@Dyna-mite154 hey mate! Thank you we appreciate the feedback :) owning a dyna love to hear it! Definitely having a dyna comes with a lot of character and they are super cool bikes!
f you're looking for a more laid-back, urban cruiser with a unique hardtail design, the Dyna TC Low Rider might be the way to go. If you prioritize comfort, power, and modern amenities for long-distance touring, the Softail M8 Low Rider might be your better bet.
Subbed, so good having Aussies bike channel. I just got my bike licence 3 months ago. I can't wait to get an HD or maybe Indian. In the meantime, I got my LAMS approved Vstar.
Pretty good comparison vid 👌 im in the process now on my 20 fxlrs to throw a cam in i cant wait to see how it goes , ps: ive had dynas just fell inlove with the softtail purely from the price per dollar for power.
I’d love to try out a new soft tail m8, I can’t wrap my head around the fact a soft tail could ever be better than dyna.. I come from the early twin cam world where the soft tail is usually considered the worst bike for any type of aggressive riding!
The older softails are different in design in a couple ways, the frame is different and the placement of not two but one shock. The shock is under the seat running from the top back of frame to the very top of swingarm. The old ones have them directly underneath the frame on bottom running to the front of swingarm. The difference in handling is highly noticeable. Especially when you put a better suspension on the new m8! Mine is raised up in the front and back and aggressive riding is most definitely not an issue. It's worth a test ride and for sure a purchase!! 🤘
I almost bought a 2016 lowrider s. I waited until the M8 lowrider s came out. The single mono shock under the seat is the ticket. I ride a 2022 lowrider st. Came off of a roadglide, no regrets love the st. I hated the old softails with the 1.5 suspension travel under transmission they ride like crap
Great bike mate, I had a 2012 Fat Bob Dyna it done a rear wheel bearing & front engine mount i traded up to a 2015 Wide Glide put a stage 4 in it with a D and D Bobcat Exhaust progressives springs in front & YSS 12i1/2 inch on rear handled pretty good then done another front engine mount so i installed a Sputhe Stabiliser it made the bike handle like it was on rails but didn't do another engine mount in 10, 000 km up until i traded the bike on a Bagger. I didn't ride the bike as hard as you do but i still gave it a hard time & went on some long runs with it, wish i still had it ,good luck with the channel see you out there sometime
@@bertkanan2176 cheers mate, Shane’s retail if you were to buy it new and do it would be looking around the 50k aud mark , James definitely on the cheaper side you could pick one up around the 22 to 25k mark and put abit in then you’d be looking around the 30 to 35k aud if you were to build his
Great vid guys would be good to see a vid talking about cost of ownership problems you may have had with the bikes and just general ownership review would be cool
@@Livinvtwin sweet it would make a good vid for people that are trying to compare dyna vs the new softail I know I’m in that boat I really like the dyna’s but do you buy something older or do you go new?
@@TheTom99tom99 yep for sure mate, we have a comparison video that we are in the works of doing with the next low s and the Dyna low s , so Hopfuly we can answer all your questions in that video but if not please reach out so we can
@@Livinvtwin not anymore went to bagger but it eliminated the straight line and mid corner dyna wobble on the swingarm. upgrading the suspension to legends/ohlins/RWD is also a massive win for any dyna
Yep for sure, if you look on our channel there’s a full bike breakdown on james fxdlrs, will also be dropping a full breakdown on Dakotas fxdc too in the coming weeks
Good to see a dyna related channel fellas, a few install videos would be bloody good too if yous do alot of the work yourselves. But anyway I’ll be keen to see what ever content yous put out keep it up legends!
