@ovrlndr neither had I, and I usually don't do any vids on my van, but I wanted to share it becuase I thought it was such a great solution. It's worked out great for us. No regrets!
@texasgrillchef8581 yes, good thing to know. That's why I did a little time recording of how long to remove these in a video. The flexible ones like these are going to have a better chance of surviving over the hard plastic ones though if someone wants to chance it.
@barbaraw.3236 the cutting you can just use some tin snips and take your time or of course an electric multi tool. Sorry, I didn't want to bore people with all the cutting and making the video any longer. If you checkout the video at about 12:11 as another person commented below, you can get a pretty good view of the final result. There is no right "side" any longer since where it did contour down has been cut off. I did cut around some things on the left and there are a few places where it still contours down some, but it really doesn't matter and that could all be cutoff also. Some other commenter's said they lopped off the right rear mount also I think it was. Double check that : )
Did you need any additional parts to install the modular bumper coming from the plastic bumper that came stock on the base model? I’d like to think the bolts all just go in the same place and the bolts don’t need to be any longer than the existing ones that hold the plastic bumper on. I’m going from a plastic bumper to a Raptor bumper. Thanks for any help in advance!
@matttorres8921 everything bolted right up from what i recall. You just need to cutoff the tow hook deals on the intercooler brackets or buy the parts for the non base that don't have the tow hook loops. If you are using the raptor skid plate you will however need a spacer and longer bolt. I've kept the raptor bumper, but moved on to the ABR skid plates.
@matttorres8921 oh, I almost forgot. The base plastic skid plate will take significant cutting to fit with the modular bumper. From your question about the spacer I'd guess you are going to run the raptor skid. I didn't get around to making a spacer. I left that bolt out and didn't do any offroading until I had the arb, but I did buy a longrr bolt that I belive would be the correct one with spacer. M10-1.50 X 75. Class 8.8 hex cap from lowes or home depot. Hillman brand. Hope this helps!
@@TheCorneringStore Thanks a ton for that bolt information! I was able to get a Raptor bumper off of a guy locally that had gotten his Raptor Bronco off of the delivery truck and drove it less than 5 miles to the shop that then upgraded the front and back bumper for him. There's not even a bug stuck to the bumper, really stoked to upgrade our Bronco. Thanks again for all the info!
I'm dealing with the dreaded 2 rusted upper manifold bolts right now, when attempting to replace the badly-engineered oil filter adapter housing because of the cracked plastic reservoir. So it will be CA$3,000 once all is said and done (if I also need a new lower manifold - remains to be learned). There should be a class-action lawsuit. Dorman makes an after-market oil filter adapter housing which is ALL aluminum, like Dodge should have done in the first place 🤬
Oof, I hope I never need to replace that oil filter housing and have that problem. Living in the desert I'd imagine I'll he ok, but i picked up my van a few years old from Michigan. Hopefully it won't run you anymore money. I'd look at maybe replacing your coolant Reservoir also if you are having issues keeping it up to the minimum line. They have hairline cracks usually I've read. That is on my list to do. The transmissions and the leaky windshields should have been recalled/fixed I agree.
Great DIY both video and comments - ready to install mine now with confidence, very windy here too so the tape suggestion on the 3M was a great idea I will use. Thanks again for taking the time.
You're very welcome! I just saw those Badlands door sills online, and they look great with the logo. I wish they would make some with the Sasquatch on them as well.
I don’t like tables with holes in it, because some of the items I would use on the table have feet. And fall through the holes and make it unsteady. Also some stuff I would need to put on the table would fall through the holes. Plus I need a table to write on. So I need a solid surface table.
They have very thin cutting boards you could keep there and it would cover the holes when not being used. I sometimes keep a clipboard around for my "to do" lists so I can write on them etc. Just a couple ideas, but if you're using it for mainly a writing desk etc then yeah, there are some flat ones.
Appreciate this video! I bought the Broaddict rock sliders and they came with NO instructions, of course. With your help, only took me a half hour. Too easy
Hey there, after I was sure i wanted to keep the raptor bumper I sold that off quite awhile ago to get it out of the garage. It's definitely a hunt to find one at a good price nearby. Set some alerts on FB marketplace.
Im confused, Did you cut off the wires with the switch or the wires with the red and black terminal? I have aux switches and want to do this setup where the amber drls are always on, but do i cut the switch or the one with black and red terminal/power.
Promaster's cheap construction. Small drains...I used permatex black engine gasket maker. It is better to remove cowl and seal everything with new clips. Build new larger drains at the ends using bigger rubber hose and Permatex.
Very nice video, well done. What are the dimensions of the shelves? The link you provided doesn't really make it clear as to what they are measuring. thank you :)
This was vey helpful to me. Saved me from breaking the top clips while removing the panel, resolving noise rattles and making sure I used all the correct metric tools. Thank you.
That is from the ST "line" model with an automatic transmission would be my guess. I'd think it would fit physically since it's from a fiesta, but I wouldn't trust the wiring etc to be the same or that to not possibly be a problem.
Haha, with the small bits and working with plastic it won't slip easy. With metal I'll usually start with a very small drill or use a spring loaded whatchamacallit so that doesn't happen, because we've all done that!
@@TheCorneringStore I’m heavy handed I could also see myself going through the plastic and going into my hand. I’ve cut into my fingers just like this 🤣. Some people are clumsier than others. Me , and talking about me
I’m a rookie, do these lights come with the backlight as standard or it works like that because of the way you wired it? I like the idea of using it as drl without blinding other drivers. I like the design of Oracle lights but i don’t know if it works as drl or I can wire the way you did and use less power as backlight
Hi, the lights need to be capable/built with backlights. Think of it as another set of low power bulbs so there is essentially 2 lights in 1 so you can then wire them to separate switches allowing you to have them on separately.
@luissuarez8992 it's the full kit that comes with the 3 lights w/white backlights and brackets for each side that fits the modular bumper. Rough Country brand. They don't have them on Amazon so you have to look for them on their website or another reseller.
I did the same install today and I took a screen shot @12:11 to have a solid starting point for trimming my cover. Thanks as that saved me a lot of work. As another poster mentioned, I also cut off the back right post as the male end on the engine was surrounded by other stuff and unusable.
Great video of the DIY job. With that being said I’ve done dozens of mods on cars with panels and spoilers I don’t recommend the urethane. I have never had an issue with 3M tape not holding a spoiler on event through years of drive through car washes. Unless you really don’t care about the paint go for it but if you want reversal of the mod stick with the 3M double sided tape and if you want extra security use 3M vhb on the inside of the spoiler where the urethane head went. But that’s just my experience and advice. Happy modding.
Good advice for anyone that wants it reversible. Vhb is amazing and will hold about anything once setup. I have 2 solar panels mounted with VHB (used 2 screws in the front so as to have mechanical backups) to my self build camper van for 5 years now and they aren't going anywhere.
It seems the steering wheel I bought from Europe doesn't have that rubber part on the inside. Is it easy to take off and get moved to the new steering wheel? I did got the flat bottom wheel for mk8 focus and fiesta.
Thanks for the video. I have the same Cactus gray hybrid. Just got my cab and tailgate spoiler in. Just waiting for the right day to install them. Your video will make the install go a lot smoother!
I am planning to do this install as well but want 2 pairs to be in switch 2 and 1 pair to be on switch 3 but wire all blue wire = DRL wire into switch 6 and all ground wire into 1 wire will this work? or should I separate the ground wire by the switch 2 and 3
Thanks for the video, I have been searching and can’t see spending a fortune on these, but also don’t want to waste the money on the super cheap ones. I think I am pulling the trigger on this one. Where is the link for the tire repair kit? That looked interesting too.
I'm still very happy with the table. It still doesn't make a sound. Here is the link to the tire plug kit. amzn.to/47WrkWS Glad you liked the video, thanks!

@dearbulls not sure what piece you're talking about. Hopefully it will just transfer over. Everything seemed the same except for the bottom middle fascia pieces.
@@TheCorneringStore it's okay. Seller returned it and I'm going to get the exact same model. He said it's just different manufacturer with different gen mk8 wheel
