*_After trying a buddy's I had to get one👉👉>_**_allmy.tips/ClimbBelay?tT_**_ Compared to my Edelrid Jul Sport the feeding was so much smoother and the feel was overall more confident. Braking performance is consistent and it's very light. Probably one of the best tube style belay devices on the market._*
Nice video. The problem with coiling from the open ends to the middle you then TRAP all the twist of the rope in the middle. I would suggest that one coils from the MIDDLE to the ends. This way any twists are then allowed to disperse out of the rope ends. After 63 yrs of professional climbing I have found this system to be the best. safe climbing to all you rock climbers
great to see - never climbed it . It was too hard for my ability...when I lived in the Bow Valley, for about a decade starting in the early 80s - this route had a fierce reputation , Barry Blanchard, who subsequently led a couple courses I took, was long known to be a very solid Alpinist....the two weeks I spent with him was a great experience - I learned so much - climbed Polar Circus with him and after climbed it twice more on the sharp end guiding a couple friends up the route......I went up to look at Andromeda Strain once, camped out, but never climbed it ....I had a friend who had just tried and said he nearly died trying to climb a horrendous pitch up high on the route .....the crux pitch that apparently Barry first ascended....he said it was extremely run out with seriously potential for injury if he had fallen thus they bailed out so way....I am not sure how.....I miss my decade out in the bow Valley and up around Jasper - best time of my life . I was planning on becoming an ACMG guide and had taken a couple courses but for a number of reasons I decided to return east and finish my degree and go on to graduate school which gave me a useless masters degree in linguistic which basically means shit a....ll when it comes to finding a job - the mistakes we make when young....now in almost 53 I am actually considering selling all I own and buying a van loading it up with all my old gear which i still have, my old stiff shaft wild country "Friends" and tons of hexes and wired nuts and ice axes boots crampons, tents m jackets and stuffing in all in my van and heading down to the Nelson area to ski nice powder at Whitewater for the next twenty years - what I will do for a living I have no idea - maybe get a job bouncing or preferably bartending in a bar or something///wish me luck lol cheers guys!!
This is the best video I found this knot. The other guys are doing it on a desk or from a different point of view. Very easy to learn when you make the video feel like point of view.
When I used to ski a lot in the 70's and 80's it seemed that there were a number of one legged skiers that could ski circles around me. Apparently nothing has changed. It's so great that someone with a physical handicap can still have fun and get a thrill out of life. Ain't gravity grand? Now could he do that on a snowboard?
just finished an epic solo packrafting run on this river. I hiked for 4 days (which included hitching 3 rides above Kelly) to Upper Falls where the river was only flowing at 100 cfs. I paddled for 4 days down to Lower Slide Lake, where the river was at 3,500 cfs
after paddle rafting it saturday i realized you both were stuck on river left side- how'd you do? and after scouting Hermit, i kinda see why ya abandoned ship above it.
It took 5 seconds to take the first pro out and, with the the fumbling, 10-15 seconds to take the second pro out. So you saved 20-25 seconds. I don't see the point here. What's the rush?
Lol at first I wanted to say how wrong this guy is!!! But I see everyone has done it for me, so i'll just confirm that this dude is a knobhead! And dont listen to a word!!! PmSl :-D
Very precise & concise, also interesting about why double not single coiling, lots of good info done very professionally, not done climbing mysel but good, thanks
this is the best figure of 8 knot video I have seen so far: clear, simple and slow enough to follow. I managed to learn this know very quickly using this video whereas other videos left me confused.
he wasted valuable time telling us this simple message in over 4 minutes of fuzzy video. yes I do this as well, wasting 2-3 minutes x 10-15 pitches can mean a huge difference in weather, exposure and especially daylight. ive got it down to a science.
