For those of us who know the story, it makes this song more haunting, more poignant. I remember when Wish You Were Here came out in '74, but too young to thoroughly understand what the lyrics and the brilliant guitar playing meant. There can be no other song that grips your heart with melancholy and loss like this one, Shine On, You Crazy Diamond.
Capital Radio aired Wish You Were Here for the first time in the Summer of 1975 .. with the advisory not to make any adjustments to your audio equipment - I had my reel to reel tape recorder set up to record the entire album. Part way through there were a few blank seconds during the transmission.
İTS been quite a while BOSS 725 a month 🐺🐺🐺what happened to your hat?you said maybe İ am,yes that was you.i can understand the reason why, Hotel California...you havent seen a soul like mine since 1969 then why you guys did not let me to live my dream i was ready,27,young, sexy.My chest hair is white now im 41,then WHY BOSS WHY?
David is like performing this and saying to himself “I don’t know why people are fascinated by me, or by just simple song, am just picking some strings”
@@nathan7063 Apart from Not now John (which was written by Roger, and I don't think David really liked any songs from The Final Cut) he doesn't really swear much. In a few songs he says a word or two, but he doesn't swear nearly as much as most rappers and modern pop musicians do.
Wonderful stuff..we all still love this after all these years..David Gilmour like Mark Knopfler dont need to be flash.. their brilliance is in their feel and phrasing ..never over done always making you play their records over and over again..even as they age they mesmerise us still... thanks for posting this 🎸
David Gilmour wasn’t gifted. He’s been blessed with such gift. I don’t know if this was part of an interview, but at the moment he started to sing, emotions started to happen in me, and I truly don’t know why, when I already listened to this song a thousand times. Amazing, glory be to God!!
