Build Presentations for Your Webcam, Not a Projector.
CueCam Presenter is a Mac app that lets you share anything on your webcam. Use your iPhone as a camera, teleprompter and preview window. Use your iPad to draw on anything.
This would be useful because I stopped using Shoot and switched to Camo because when I used my iPhone as a webcam, all of the controls for the Shoot app were facing away from me and impossible to adjust while I was using the camera.
You can use the Duet app on an iPad or a Liliput display - anything that allows you to mirror the content (so the text doesn't appear backwards!). (Actually, you can make CueCam's teleprompter text mirrored so that you can read it even when the rest of the UI is reversed but it takes a bit of practice to move the mouse in the right direction!
Hi John. Very interesting about your video set up as well as the Chat GPT response you got to your question. I am interested in both. Is it possible you can make a tutorial, in step-by-step basis, for building a rig such as the one you have...both in Apple and Microsoft versions? We heard your voice but did not see your computer screen to view the software you are using. OR, if there is a pre-exoisting link or video that already goes through this type of set-up that would be appreciated. The ChatGpt question and response is a very interesting jump off point for a longer and thoughtful inquiry and discussion. Would appreciate the question and the ChatGPT link so I can explore this question further on my own. Glad to see you are still up and at it and very much enjoyed this post. Take care, Francis
I used CueCam and Video Pencil for a 2 day training course that finished today - I absolutely WOWed the students with the functionality. Thank you Thank you!!!! 🥰
Nope! still doesn’t work! I've been trying to use VP(C) with Ecamm since the first release. I don't see an image on the iPad. Perhaps you should demo the iPad's Video Pencil settings to help.
👍🏻 Michael. Glad to see the How-To guides section filling up - very useful, and a great way to keep documentation current. Will be interested to see how the CueCloud shapes up - definitely has potential!
Lots of good improvements coming. I'm glad you're thinking about automatic framing too (though I use a DSLR so I'd need support for that vs. Shoot with my iPhone). One aesthetic tweak I've been thinking about is to give the background color to text placed on-screen to have just a little more padding instead of ending abruptly with the beginning or end of text. Maybe even the ability to have squared or rounded corners for that background.
Hi Brandon, At some point I'll be looking at automatic framing for all cameras but not just now :) I'm aware that the aesthetic choices are currently very limited. I plan on introducing design systems for CueCam 2.1 with some much better options for text rendering! Note that the"unified" option does have padding. I left it abrupt on the "individual" one because it happened naturally and I quite liked it. But yes, lots of scope for improvement!
Hi Michael - really enjoy how you take us behind the scenes - there’s always something for everyone, no matter our level of expertise with coding, presenting, or otherwise. CCP 2 is looking great. Thanks for all your efforts in bringing us this evolving media tool. 🙏
Hey Michael. Nice lively session today, chock full of tips! Sorry I missed the live, but was right in the middle of an inperson bowls session. Thanks for the shout out, btw. Geoff told me about it later!
Really like this … still familiarising so need to watch a few more times. Perhaps aim at target audience of seniors with limited skills (but want to learn and understand). Well done - you have created a great product set.
Thank you! The original goal with this video was to help existing users to navigate the new layout and I'm planning a lot more introductory content now that this release is ready.
Not just you, keep watching and we mention why it probably is (I was multi-streaming to RU-vid and LinkedIn with, apparently, way too little bandwidth!)
Did you know Mac users get VP as part of the CueCam package… I use it to manage a wireless camera (iPhone) into our ATEM. Live Camera Control: A Technical Showcase ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hJRTCuXkBFM.html
Lovin’ these live Labs, Michael! “Everything is great - and nothing ever has any issues - and we love life!” 😂❤ It’s inspiring to see you have so much fun under times when others might be suffering complete meltdowns! Your baby is going to have such a wonderful dad!
I'd like to see a Total Idiot's Guide to setting up and using CueCam as I feel like a lot of your videos jump in the middle of the process and leave out some of the basic (and what should be obvious, I suppose) steps. I feel like I am missing steps at times in setting things up and realize it is because you are going fairly quickly through the basic part of the process. I need a slower step-by-step I can follow along with. CueCam is a great tool and I think it can be my indispensable tool for online presentations, but I am obviously missing some basic stuff.
