That fault as you know is to do with the turbo being coked up,if you disconnect the actuator arm and then move it manually it cleans the blades I used to do it on an old jag I had and it would last 6 months or so before it acted up again,I’ve currently got the same car as you and it’s got 200,000 on it but drives like new
Has the RS 19" wheels too, forged, worth a few bob so could keep them or sell them on after a refurb and get a set of the grey snowflakes they normally come with (looks like an ST2 as well). If you don't mind, I'll post a picture with the reg on the MK3 STRS Owners club, could be someone's old car. Your boost gauge won't show pressure as your intercooler will be smashed to pieces and boost hoses off, it's sending boost into atmosphere at the moment. Turbo will probably be fine. Just be careful revving the car below 60C oil temp, prone to get too hot on the pistons and melt ringlands because of pre-detonation. I've owned one of these for 3 years, put around 45k miles on one and worked on over a dozen of them. If you need an updated F11 SD Card, please do join the MK3 STRS Owners Club on Facebook (one run by Zara Firth), and ask about it, I'll be in touch as I supply them with genuine software for a fraction the cost of Ford dealers; do a rebate on the old SD cards too. Absolutely loads of people with in depth knowledge on there and quite a few parts that are not advertised elsewhere.
i do not like going to London any more you really have to be careful ,i really like the colour of this freelander we have had freelander 1 for the last 24 years and have thought of having the f2 but some do suffer from heldex and other problems it does put us off ,thanks for the video
Interesting you say that because normally the F1 is considered the unreliable one. I believe that was due to one engine model having issues. Have you had a good ownership experience?
I own a 65plate only thing to watch is the electrics with the 4x4 system im in a loop hole with the centre diff flashing, meaning there is a fault, spent over 1k and is still flashing to this day! certainly not what i was expecting when i bought one for reliability.
I had the same problem with my jag so I used to disconnect the actuator arm and move it manually for 10 seconds or so till it moved freely it used to last about 3 months till I needed to do it again, did I see a Birstal sign there I’m from pudsey take care
If this has gone through Rufford Ford, and looking at the state of the battery components it has been pretty deep when this van through it, then the engine will be hydro-locked
Hi! I'm not sure about the tax yet it's still taxed. I do know some can be £700 ish depending on the year. It is absolutely brilliant for towing though. I think the only better tow car would be a Toyota Landcruiser
I also purchased the X type 2.2 d auto estate 2008, and had the very same problem, heater plug warning light and gear box fault also went into limp mode. after watching your channel and others I did the Mr Muscle trick after drilling the hole and tapping it. Job sorted I also have left the bolt by the bulkhead out to speed the job up next time. I think after every service I will give it the Mr Muscle I also purchase the additive you recomended and add it on every tank fill from empty. thank you for the information I must admit really wasnt sure I was doing the right thing at the time seems wrong drilling into the back of the turbo.. But it works and runs great now. Many thanks.
I have the 2008 2.2 saloon with flashing coil light and gearbox fault. My mechanic says fix the actuator arm, do you think the turbo will also require cleaning?
Awesome Video I recently visited your RU-vid channel and enjoyed your content. However, I noticed that your videos are not ranking well due to some issues. I believe that if these issues are addressed, your videos will rank better. Here are the issues I found with your channel: 1. Video SEO has not been properly done. 2. Videos are not being released on time. 3. The video titles are not optimized. 4. Keyword research has not been done effectively. 5. Video thumbnails are not appealing enough to attract viewers. Solving these issues will help your RU-vid channel perform better.
I own a 2lt Mondeo estate 07plate 180k miles only repair in the 5 yrs of driving was a tailpipe replacement, it drives remarkably well. I also own a 2.2 X type estate, 09/10 plate which has done 90kmiles and is in showroom condition. The only difference between driving them is that the Jag feels like a thorough bred and the Mondeo just a car.
I've had 4... 2 saloons and 2 estates.. the first saloon a 2.5 AWD was wrecked in a road rage incident (not me raging) replaced with a 3.0 AWD which was upgraded to a 2.5 estate (needed space for our dogs) all these SE... the first estate was upgraded to a 3.0 Sovereign estate... ALL have driven exceedingly well... the awd giving exceptional handling and great in the wet, snow... or on muddy ground (as happens at times when camping)... and my dogs? They love the good vision given from the rear.
