I have no doubt that Katz’s chili dog is good. The chili looks a bit meh (I’m from Texas). Your first description of the chili is to , “look at the beans”. Grrrrr. Blasphemy. I’d rather eat canned hormel chili or wolf brand chili (without beans) than eat a chili with beans. You need to add cheddar or American cheese, onions. Even ez cheese from the can would make it better. I’d rather eat a Wienerschnitzel chili dog than a Katz’s chili dog.
I have a ritual everytime I'm back home. I buy a sabrett street hotdog with mustard and red onions a slice of pizza from my spot on knickerbocker ave and a Mr. Softee ice scream cone. The only thing I truly miss from NYC, the foods I grew up eating . The police siren in the background got me home sick. 🙏
NEVER get a hot dog from the dirty hot dog man. If you must have a hot dog in NYC find a papaya dog or go to Brooklyn's Fulton hot dog place (they relocated recently😢).
