Would've been nice to see the LPI options for the Canon, and also a look at the dots in the tinted rectangle through a glass. At 50 LPI I would almost expect to be able to make them out when you held it up to the camera.
I have an epson 1430, the special settings screenprinting isn't showing up in the other section, but I want all cartidges to print black. Is there a way to get that menu to show up?
For the first time do you need to soak completly yhe sponge? Cause, when I refill the cartridge it takes some time to autoreset, and even with the reservois tank filled up, the printer the status indicates it is low of ink.
The cartridges have auto reset chips. They calculate how much ink has been consumed not how much is in the cartridge. There is no way to reset the ink levels before you get a prompt on the computer. Ignore the warnings on the printer. When you get the prompt on the computer (not the printer) remove the cartridge and refill it, power down the printer, power up, replace the cartridge it that should reset the chip.
I am having trouble with the Mac version of PrintFab that I bought last month. It works great except that I cannot seem to get my custom settings to stay. It's a real pain having to set all of the options for every page that I have to print. Can you help me? Thanks!
It’s a sin with all the technology out there they can’t make a decent epson printer that prints on films without a white sheet behind it. Bring back the 1430.
This setup was Excellent! I am a Corel Draw guy, but this setup walked me through it perfectly. Further, I bought a Epson SC T2170 and the software and printer are best friends. Even though the printer is not on the list!
Hi I have the trial version of PrintFab and though it set custom print size etc my films keep printing vertically. Any tips? I use a Mac and an epson p800.
he has no idea what he's doing, re; print. he's giving tons of bad advice. "the higher the better" is not what you want your resolution set to, for example, and the color mode is not a matter of personal preference.
@@roywilkie9577 Please expand, I choose to import designs at between 300 and 500 dpi depending on file size. Size absolutely does matter. Try importing a design at 72 dpi and see how it separates. And no it doesn't matter if you import a finished design at RGB or CMYK. You are converting the design to a grayscale channel anyways. You're not outputting color composite.
Thanks Ryan its a good video. I tried all the settings as you mentioned for ix6820 on windows pc but I am not able to get darker black. I increased the dpi to 9600 and set media to Transparent but there is no difference. However I noticed one thing that in the print preview window the media shows as plain paper even when I selected the media as Transparent. Is there any other place where I have to change it?
I’m interested in this rip software. Does it work just as good as Accurip? I do manual color seps on PS and wish i sad some type of rip to get cleaner halftones.
Hi, what version of PS u are using. Because I got the 2020 and i don't see the option for Output > Screen Module to change the screen angle to 22.5. I got the Pixma iX6820 and PrintFab. Thanks
I hear your question. EPSON Corp. emphasizes to use only inks made by Epson to honor warranty. The actual screen printing people, gurus, aficionados and amateurs found out and figured it out for best results is to us ink that will block UV light. There is this type of ink for Epson and Canon and you even chose the ink for the model of your printer.
I followed the instructions but I cannot get the black to print dark enough. I have black in all the cartridges. What are the settings to get the black to print very dark.
Under the main tab , for paper choose transparency or Photo Platinum pro (darker). Resolution choose 2400 or 9600 dpi. Under options tab (pc)or special settings screen printing (mac) >halftone screen mode choose "multi black" . Under screen ink saturation leave it at 200%. You can always adjust this higher or lower to increase or decrease ink coverage. That should be it. If it's not dark at this point increase the screen ink saturation % or your ink may be for photo printing and translucent in that case try our canon formulation ink. It's super black. www.filmdirectonline.com/copy-of-fd-dye-black-ink-choose-size/
Hey was just looking at you videos and needed help. I got a canon ix6820 and I’m using the print fab and printing from Corel draw but I’m having problems with films no coming out black enough. Was wandering if you can help me with the settings? Thank you very much
What is the print quality like for 100% opacity black for screen printers that are printing film positives? I know this printer doesn't get a good reputation in the screen printing community.
Good question. I've noticed this before and decided to do a test. I filled a PGBK cartridge with magenta ink to see when it prints from that cartridge vs the BK cartridge and couldn't isolate it with either the Canon drivers or Printfab. Setting up multiple black images in Illustrator I couldn't get an object to print with the PGBK cartridge as the image should of printed in magenta ink, but only printed black. There is no way to isolate the PGBK (XL black cartridge) on the ix6820 in PrintFab. You can control the smaller BK cartridge with the multi-black feature turned on then enable or disable that cartridge. The "single black" option also only pulls from the smaller BK cartridge. I'm not sure why this is, I'll ask the developers and post the reply when I hear back. - Bryan
Thank you so much for developing this software. Do you have a tutorial for the Mac setup? I haven’t looked through your videos yet. You have a new sub btw. Thanks again!
I tried this on my 9600 but when I got to the maintenance tank option I was presented with a number rather than the EXEC function. My maintenance tank is claiming to be almost full after a service. Any advice would be welcome. Cheers.
thanks for posting ... I´m just wondering if I have to Align or adjust the Print-head in any way after replacing it. I had to open my Head for cleaning and now I think it is just printing not right ... thanks
