The economy is in trouble. There is always a down side before an election, especially this one. I don't know if it comes back. Inflation is going nowhere. It's only getting worse. I've been scammed a number of times recently. I'm relatively new to this, but it doesn't take much to notice the low ball offers and the returns. People are hurting right now and that's when desperation sets in.

And after having this issue with the paypal chargeback i'd rather use one of those carriers for more expensive items since they take delivery photos.

When I go to create an order, it seems like it requires a phone number and email for the buyer which I don't have and I don't understand why it's necessary. I don't really want to put my own phone # on the label as then the buyer will have it lol.

I don't really sell clothes because I don't like selling it. But honestly, if I had no other option, I could learn to love it by doing a deep dive on/research on untapped niches within clothing. I was taking sewing lessons a year ago so I do have interest in the construction/technical aspects of clothing.
@@acr4715 I definitely am not discounting anyone's experience. My only advice is to the proper line of problem solving and make any adjustments if necessary. And that's only if the slow sales are becoming consistent when sales typically start to go up
Hi, new follower 😊 you mentioned that you promote at 5% and my question is do you sell in a very saturated market ? Like me I sell clothing (pre-owned) and I feel 5% is not enough ? And yes I would like to diversify but I live in the very north of Canada with one thrift store in an area of 800km so I do the best with what I have available. Thanks in advance !
@@juliedubois5650 hi, and thank you for the support. I do sell in a saturated market, health & beauty, cosmetics, personal care, etc. The recommended is usually 2 times higher, like around 15%-18%. Those people are crazy or ebay is lying🤣 5% in addition to desirable items gets the job done. Clothing may be different but I think the formula can be the same. Higher sale through rate clothing with reasonable promoted percentage will move the product IMO

I haven't had any that stopped tracking and are lost but I've had more people than usual claiming they never got an item that's been scanned delivered. Probably some people that learned this nonsense buying from amazon or walmart. I got one buyer who opened a Paypal chargeback for this and I asked them if they could try speaking to their carrier or calling their post office to see if the staff there could check with the carrier. They have not been very cooperative and I'm honestly not sure if i can win an actual chargeback. I'm seriously considering switching to UPS for everything except the very light items, as they at least take photos of where the item was delivered. I don't know if they're any easier to get an insurance payout out of, though. Just so tired of these scamming people.

100% Covid era was JUST that an ERA it was an anomaly MANY who had been doing this full time for 2 plus decades could see that when Covid hit they (Myself included) could see NOTHING about reselling during covid was ANYTHING but normal but I for one and i know many other LONG time full time resellers said Make the best of this because it aint going to be HERE for long. The only reason we have any sense of normalcy in our lives since 2020 is because of the people who vent when everyone else remains quiet. We would all be gone from this earth if it wasn't for people who speak up when things are wrong. Those who always look at the bright side and never complain are a curse on humanity.

I’m referring to people who are making every mention of a problem in the world about politics and taking it as an opportunity to complain. Without seeing a seller’s listing habits, product selection, service metrics, etc first hand, no one really knows why that happened. Someone who comes to the thread to complain about politics isn’t helping the person who posted. We can’t control EBay or our government, so even if that WERE the reason, venting about it on the thread wouldn’t help them pay their bills.

Had an order 📦 this week which status first stated “delivered” and next day it stated “person picked up at usps”. However,📦 was never delivered. Opened a claim, got denied, and now dealing with appeal 🤦♂️
they run AI on your listings and that AI "Finds" a problem and it takes down newer listed items. I listed over 100 items today and at the end of the listing day Check my messages and Sure enough I have a "Counterfeit Item policy" for an item which is listed by over 60 other sellers. Like the exact same item. a piece of clothing
I'm really considering starting a shopify because I am getting sick of these platforms too. They can suspend or ban you anytime they want. I know it requires alot of social media marketing but I think it is worth it in the long run. Only thing that stops me is companies potentially sending cease and desists because they don't want resellers selling their items on your own website either. What are your thoughts on that?
@@la6136 I think it's a good idea. I am going to do it. I know it takes time which is why I want to start now. As for the case and desist, I'd rather get that and deal directly with the company than potentially get banned from a platform for the same thing. Worse case scenario you just stop selling that item. Also, unless you're selling Gucci or some big brands like that you probably won't have to worry about it. The reason they get us on these platform is that they have people searching them and the platforms themselves use bots. They're not really looking for small websites. I mean, how many people are selling on whatnot and add of now you really don't hear about these issues and in some cases there are bad actors. I think if you sell online and you already have a social media presence then it can't hurt and it's pretty low startup cost
My listing was up for not even 12 hours, it was an authentic One penny cent from 1927 with. No mint mark which makes it rare , Coin collectors know what to look for when it comes to collectable currency. My listing was removed under a supposed policy violation which I’m being accused of selling a counterfeit coin and or counterfeit coin making items. Absolutely unbelievable and despicable! Every single one of my listings is authentic, nothing phony on my end, yet these individuals just get to look at a listing and decide it’s counterfeit, my listing only had 2 views so I’m guessing it was one of their top notch agents or an A.i. program, it’s probably just an actual person using AI as a way to not be accountable, idk what’s going on but it’s infuriating!
@@hustle-n-grow I filed an appeal and asked the faceless overseer what factual evidence do they have to make such a one sided decisive accusation, and about 20 minutes later after I submitted my appeal I receive what appears to be a Vague automated message that basically translates to: too bad so sad your appeal was denied because we said so, basically get Fucked and don’t you dare think about posting said item again. Unbelievably disappointing!
