Why cut off the part of taking the pcb off? Yours have no silicone holding the extruder connection which I have and I think I pulled the pcb connection off I was so gentle!
I bought mine from you about 2 weeks ago. Finally getting around to putting it in tomorrow. I was impressed with the quality. Nice video to go to for reference if I need to.
Nice video, made the wiring harness a piece of cake. I did mine with only loosening the back half of the left panel. Would be hard to shoot the video that way but easy enough to do the actual work.
This helps a huge amount. Did you need to add the 20A charge and brake fuses if you didn't put in the trailer brake control harness? Also, the push-in fastener at the front lower part of the side panel wasn't put back in. Wondering if it couldn't be reused. Maybe it became one of those random fasteners in the drawer (not that I have a drawer). Did you need to remove the rubber door gasket at the front of the panel?
I was quoted $3000 for dealer installed hitch, harness and transmission cooler. Without the tran cooler, the towing capacity is rated at 3500 lbs, WITH the cooler, it is 5000 pounds towing capacity. After watching this, I think I'll just live with no hitch at all. Thanks for the video.
This is a great video. Thank you for all the detail. As I watched I wondered about just dremelling out the notch for the receiver and fashioning an edging material to make it look tidy? The passport is seemingly and often overlooked, but a naturally aspirated V6 and 9spd on a two row is increasingly rare. Will it drive a cult like the Element? Probably not, but a very special car.
Is this possible without infrared? I have a FUJIFILM with this option. I'm trying to blow up the balloon, but the flashes go off too late, even in open-flash mode...
I am not real sure on the answer to your question. I hadn’t used the Pluto Trigger in several years but just pulled it out a few days ago and I’m trying to capture a balloon burst on my iPhone. I’m having the same problem with the flash going off too late and haven’t figured out how to correct that yet. I’ll post another reply if I get it figured out.
@@Steve4948 This day, I found a solution by sound (Pluto sensor and not GSM Sensor) and it works super well with an immediate response to the slight sound. I will post one of the photos soon on Instagram. correctif: I have a FUJIFILM without this option infrared.
I’ve been looking for an expanding mandrel like the one you say is from Arizona silhouette. Do you have any link to something similar? I’d like to find one for turning a piece of stock without a thru-hole
I haven't worked in the shop for several years now, so I'm not sure where you could get that mandrel. I bought things from www.pennstateindustries.com/ before so you might try them. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Thank you! Yes, I think you could cut out of that panel where the hitch goes. I think I threw that little panel away or I would make a cut in it and see how it looks. A Subaru dealer did that on my friends outback. And when he pointed it out, I could see that it was cut but I don’t know if I would’ve noticed that without him pointing it out.
Great video! Looks like something I could do with an extra pair of hands to get bumper/trailer hitch installed. I too strongly prefer the more integrated look and function of the OEM vs the aftermarket options which, are much easier to install but look kinda wierd and are likely to scrape terrain a few times.
Just an unrelated tip: when you have all those covers and tool box out, remove the spare tire and check the pressure. Mine was almost 20 psi low. Honda has the tire valve only accessible with the tire removed😮
After seeing what is required to put on the factory hitch, i am going to just add an aftermarket hitch to mine. They only require putting in 6 bolts to mount the hitch. It comes out just under the stock center cover. The entire job takes all of 10 minutes. There is also a big difference to cost of factory and aftermarket. My 2023 is also that radiant red😊
Oh, yes, installing the aftermarket hitch won't take much time at all. I had to choose between this red and a black one. I thought the black would be too hot and harder to keep looking clean. I think we chose the right color!
@@Steve4948 yes, I know black vehicles are all the rage these days, but they get crazy hot in the southern states, are a real bear to keep clean and show every scratch - I know as I own a classic '70 muscle car that is black. My dealer had one of each color on the lot setting side by side. I liked the pearl white but the red was sooooo nice, had to get it.
@@larryjohns8823 I liked that pearl white too, but I already have a 1998 BMW M3 in white. I went to an auction last week looking for an older muscle car, but didn't find what I want so will keep looking.
Great video, for some reason, I thought it would be a lot easier. Kind of disappointed they don’t add the wiring when the vehicle comes with a trailer hitch.
@@larryjohns8823 I just purchased one, came with a trailer hitch, but no wiring. I installed the wiring myself. That’s why I was watching this video. And it came off the truck with the trailer hitch. The dealer did not install it.
@@columbotee2652 My dealer had maybe 12 new 2023 Passports on the lot and none came with a hitch. Maybe your dealer added it before you picked it up. The hitch is not shown on the window sticker as standard equipment.
@@columbotee2652 My new 2023 trailsport had no hitch nor is one listed on the "standard equipment" window sticker. I feel Honda would list it there as a selling point. Glad you got a freebie! Did you also get the bumper cover that fits around the hitch?
Your hitch install video was a huge help, this one equally informative. For what it is worth, I managed to do this with only removing the tool tray and side pocket, but you have to blind cut the electrical tape holding the 14pin connector behind the side panel.
I didn’t remove the panel. Only used the access through removing the side pocket and tool tray. Getting the 14pin connector cut loose through the pocket was the hardest part.
I saw one video where they just took out the screws behind the back two hooks. Then pulled the back of the panel out enough to get to the factory plug. Much faster and less work.
Good evening, I am having a problem using the pluto and the yongnuo RF603C II triggers on Canon. The cable between the pluto and the flash works. The cable between the pluto and the yongnuo RF603C II AC does not work. Do you have an idea please?
Did you ever get the infrared to work? I don't seem to be able to get mine to work either. I am trying to trigger the shutter with a heat source (animal). Thanks
Hi, thanks for the video. It did help me understand one aspect of the Pluto trigger. The user manual that comes with the trigger and app are so poor. But I think you took for granted much of the connectivity between the pluto trigger, wireless flass trigger, the flash themselves and the camera. It may seem trivial but it is not. I note for example that the 'camera' port on the Pluto trigger must go to the wireless flash trigger. The 'share' port on Pluto is a mystery to me. Also I note that you did not connect Pluto to the camera itself. So I am 'guessing' that Pluto sent and infared signal to the camera. All this is not well demonstrated or explained in your video. if you were to do a follow on video taking time to explain the connections and ports better it would be much more effective. I thank you for your effort but I will have to keep digging to fully understand how to do this. Regards
So bow many pops does a balloon bursting make, I guess I don't understand the 2 pops, or why 2 triggers instead of pluto to camera and adjusting flash to what you need, but I am a simple guy and it seems this is the hard way around things.
Thanks for refreshing my memory. I was taking hundreds of pictures connected to camera set up shutter for 1/600, with flash attached and low iso, and everytime i was trying to break the glass(well before i tested it on plastic cup) the trigger was little too slow. all was on manual, except attached flash was on its own settings, as auto(during day light) and all the time picture was delayed:/ Now ill try doing it at dark, with longer shutter and just simple quick flash. Again thanks for refreshing my memory, I completely forgot I can do it with dark room and slow low shutter :{
Hi Steve, thanks for the video. I already had the same Yongnuo system, so I bought a Pluto trigger in order to have the last setting of the video (controller based on a trigger + 2 yongnuo flashes). I am facing some problems when connecting the Pluto to the RF603C II trigger as it didn'tfire the transmitter. The cable is ok as if I connect the Pluto to the flash it fires regularly. Do you have any idea about this?
Hi Saverio, Sorry for the late reply. I can't think of anything to have you try. Are you using all the same connections that I had in the video? If you want to email me directly we can see if we can figure out what is going on. smjans@charter.net
