Gaitlinburg definitely has a Clifton Hill vibe. I refer to it as the Myrtle Beach of the Mountains. The Space Needle reminds me of the 1000 Islands Tower on Hill Island.
Glass floor doesn’t seem like something I would be interested in doing, haha. The sky needle was definitely cool, It would for sure be cool to stand up there and see the city and mountains from that perspective.
I'm not too sure I'd be crazy about walking across the glass bottom bridge like that myself. ☺️ But the view is from the top of the Space Needle were really fantastic! It was just kind of strange that it was open like that. Still very cool!
I know 4 people now who went up the Fake Needle and had it to themselves. The world famous Earthquake Ride! For a short cheesy ride it isn’t too bad. Sucks that the SkyBridge was closed for you but damn it looks like you had some nice weather.
It's nice when you visit in off season, there really wasn't many other tourists there. It was pretty cool getting the whole platform to ourselves. Earthquake was just as corny as I expected!!!
Don’t know that I blame you on the rope course. I’ve done one but it’s been a long time and I don’t know that I necessarily enjoyed it that much. I’m not big on heights. The house was super cool. I had no idea there. Was that much to do there.
Someday I'll go back and conquer that rope course! Ain't nothing but a thing, right? 😁 It was a very cool place to visit. Lots of really sciencey things to interact with there. It was a fun time and you have to admit the exterior is pretty unique!!!
Scrambled is the only way they serve eggs at the Earthquake Diner! 🥚🤣 Many cool exhibits. You got farther on the rope course than I would have. I do not like heights.
It was a really neat place to visit! There are dozens of very cool smaller interactive exhibits that I didn't show that were super interesting. I'm still actually a little bummed about the whole ropes thing but, someday I'll get back up there. 😁😁😁
Time to go back and try the rope challenge again! They had so many cool things here… I bet you never thought you’d bubble yourself 😂. Didn’t you visit an upside down house in Clifton Hill? I thought this place was going to be more like that but it was more of an interactive science museum.
I really do need to go back and beat those ropes! It wouldn't bug me so bad if I hadn't be so excited to get up there and do them! Still a pretty awesome visit!!!
I’ve driven past it but have never stopped to visit. It’s nice to finally see what I’ve been missing. Not sure why it didn’t occur to me that you would stop there on your trip to the mountains.
You were there at the perfect time -- no crowds. I don't miss many things about the South, but some of the food dishes are one. #sharks #bears #dinsaurs #gravy #Dolly
I'm with you there Pete. All through the trip, the food was phenomenal!!! The portions on that country fried steak were so big, I couldn't finish it!!! The weather and crowds couldn't have been better!
Yes, that building by the Hershey Store used to be a Planet Hollywood. I grew up as a local and we went there to eat quite a lot. I was disappointed it closed. The theming made it seem worth the jacked-up tourist prices. Now that I moved away, the Hershey Store is the place I have to go every time I'm back to visit family. The cupcakes are so over-priced but we do treat ourselves to them. It looks like you picked a great time to go!
I thought it was a Planet Hollywood! 😁 I'm such a huge fan of NF and Clifton Hill and try to visit it pretty often. Funny thing is, I've walked past Hersey's dozens of times and never it in. Turns out, it's quite the little treasure!!! Oh and the cupcakes were amazing...
The ole Buffalo blood came in handy! Driving around Pigeon Forge had to remind you of Clifton Hill. Between the lazy river and the Jurassic ride you pretty much just floated through town 😂
The weather there couldn't have be more perfect!!! I certainly did do quite a bit of floating there. Lazy rivers, Jurassic rides and Captain Morgan. But that's another story. 😁
We loved Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Dollywood, Nashville - we would love to visit again someday. Fun place and great times. Looks like you 2 had the place to yourselves, how awesome!! Dinner looked delish. Those are some scary looking dinosaurs. Cute and quaint town.
It's someplace I'd been wanting to visit for some time. It really blew away any and all of my expectations!!!! We never did make it Dollywood, but like I always say; great excuse to return!!!!
Lakeside State Park was a beautiful spot from which to experience the April 8 solar eclipse! I drove 40 miles from Rochester, hoping to get behind an advancing “warm front” in time for totality. Alas, this was not to be, but I managed to record the Moon’s shadow moving majestically over the lake. This effect was unexpected and extraordinary. It was chilly and windy, but I was blessed that it didn’t rain. I set up my camera on one of the concrete tees by the lake that appears in your video. The day before and the day after the eclipse were crystal clear on the lake. Aerial video of the Moon’s shadow from the “frisbee golf course” is on my YT channel. This fantastic two-week visit was my first to Upstate New York. You’re fortunate to call it home, but I’m not sure I could handle the winters🥶!
I had a look at your eclipse video, completely amazing! Lakeside couldn't have been a better place to capture it! I'm sorry the weather didn't cooperate that day. We are very blessed to have some really beautiful parks to visit in Western New York. The winters aren't all that bad (once you get used to them). 😁 Thank you for watching!!!
Ha, never occurred to me what he did prior to being president. Nice touch adding that information. I agree with T that it must have been lucrative, I’m guessing that it predated assembly lines and made for something a little more fitted and personal. The house was really nice, always curious to see how presidents lived.
Had no idea he was a tailor. Must’ve been a lucrative job judging by the size of the house he was born in and the giant house he lived in later. He has been on about every list I’ve seen for “worst Presidents” so it is nice there is still a place out there honoring what he did accomplish and his life in general. 😂 gotta have your opium nearby!
Yeah politically, he wasn't one of the greatest presidents ever. But still, it is nice that they have memorialized everything. Always make sure you have your laudanum at hand, you never know! 😁
We hiked about the same amount of the Appalachian Trail but at Shenandoah National Park in Virginia, and I'm claiming, it too! 🥾🤣 We spent a night in Cherokee in 2022. Neat little town. Did you see any elk? We came across a couple grazing along the road after stopping at that visitor's center, which was a really cool place, too. People were setting up chairs in the field next door; it's supposedly a spot to see herds of elk nightly.
If you hiked it, it counts! 😁 Cherokee was a neat little town. We didn't see any elk on this trip but we've seen them in Colorado, very impressive and BIG animals!
What an incredible trip. It must be nice to be back out and about seeing and documenting the world. Haven’t been to the smoky mountains in over a decade, it was nice to see.
Hello Uncle Heavy, I hope this message reaches you well. I am reaching out because I am working on a special project which includes creating a horror short based off of a terrifying theme park known as Pooky Park. The goal of the short is to splice together AI generated footage of the haunted theme park while also using real life footage of other theme parks. I am reaching out because I had seen your Disney vlog that you uploaded based off of your trip to Disney world in the 90s. I would love to be able to use some short segments and clips from that video as apart of my horror short. None of your family’s faces will be seen, I just want to capture some of the footage of traveling through the park with an old VHS recorder. The segments will also be very short as the goal is to not allow the audience to fully follow what is happening within each video. So I was wondering if you would allow me the permission to use your video as part of my short. If not, no worries. I just wanted to ask if it may be possible, otherwise I appreciate your time and I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day. Thank you!
New game: Take a drink every time you say: "These mountains look smoky." 🍺🤣🤣 Your trip got off to a beautiful start. We look forward to riding along on the rest of it.
It's kind of hard to hear but the second time, you can hear Michelle say "That joke is getting old" and then laughs.🤣 She said it really soft and I tried to crank up the gain in edit but it's still easy to miss. Now, if you want to really do a drinking game, have a drink each time I said 'panoramic' in this one 😁
@@UnkleHeavy I did miss it, but that's awesome! 🤣 If the game switches to panoramic, then the Genesee brewery in town will need to add an OT shift to keep up. 🤣
Wait… you didn’t make s’mores??? What were you thinking? The lounge in that place is incredible! I have to imagine you’re right and they use that one dock for ceremonies too. Guitar music was fine but lookout for banjo music down there.
Oh don't worry we definitely had some s'mores! They came before the straight bourbon. 😁 Surprisingly, they pair really well. The lounge there was very cool, it would have been neater if they had a few fires going. Overall, super nice place though!
Great footage of the wedding, congratulations to newlyweds. Looks like a really nice place too. At first the building kind of looks like an apartment complex on a lake. The lodge area and grounds looked very tranquil, then there’s you running around raising Caine.
It's crazy to watch this and see how cute and pink the castle was. I was born in 1997 and grew up on Disney, when I went back for my 25th birthday Disney was celebrating 50 Years! And the castle was pink again, and I LOVE pink. I LOVE DISNEY!! <3
