I think it should be mandatory to be in the field for at least 5 years before doing inspections to many go right into inspections and they think they no everything in reality they don’t know shit do some time in the field so you know what your writing up and what it does to many idiots that just turn valves and fail shit that they don’t know what it does or what it for
Terry Bierwirth the founder of MyWorkMyFuture.com out of Eugene was able to attend this year's events and had a blast. Such a great event supporting women in the trades.
Very cool video of the 2019 Oregon fair! It is such an excellent event to help girls and women get a taste of what the skilled trades are all about. This includes public service in the military and public safety.

I wonder how the construction market is treating these wonderful workers now that they are not apprentice anymore, I wonder if they get work? I'm a black 35 year old man been in the concrete union in nyc 11 years now and all I'm seeing in the biz are Spanish and white workers, I've been begging all over nyc for months now and still can't get work
There is nothing wrong with you. This is the most blatant type of racism against blacks in America besides the medical situation. Blacks are stopped deliberately when they work towards any type of building contractor credentials. The system is set up in such a way that random white men in the industry can actual deside if you will make it by sabotaging black apprentice accross this nation. Then the money spenders don't trust your expertise because whites that know how the racism is applied in this system are quick to assume that your teachers deliberately left lots of building or contracting knowledge out and did not give you the full information as everyone else. They have been doing this for centuries. Almost every African American town that was built by the hands of black men and women, were destroyed. Black wall street being an example. Since that time, whites in the building industry have worked covertly together to make sure that black men did not gain any power or momentum as builders. It is still today the most racist profession for blacks across the board when it comes to completing and working in this industry. The blacks that do make it in, which are few, are watched very carefully and have been destroyed if they are known to teach other blacks or take on black apprentice to help them complete the course to becoming a certified building contractor. there are few black contractors that slipped between the cracks. There are few white men that want to change this racist industry. The ones that do are in most times afraid to be open about their desire to help balance this industry and wipe out the racism. Blacks that are most persistant in helping each other to become builders have had horror stories in the matter. The backlash of blacks building even their own homes have sometimes been met with violence much like the mafia. And in many ways it is that. America must grow and move on. We could have been the greatest country in the world. But instead we have become the most feared. And that does not make anyone great. we have been seen as very unintelligent people for decades. Yet most white Americans are oblivious in acknowledging that we have lost points as a people because of malicious, ignorant hatred. We have lost a lot of points. Giving us this America of 2019. Need one say more.
Love seeing the perspectives of these women in the trades! Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. It is greatly appreciated by those of us who are serious about getting into the trades.
@@drehernandez8081 lol it doesn't matter. You work union you get paid peanuts while waiting for your apprenticeship to end and finish school in 4 years. You go non union and you fight your boss daily to learn the trade and get paid peanuts for 4 years. Fuck the trades, call me when wages raise
To address the claims of those who think women can't do this. It's not so much that women can't do it, as they never wanted to do, because they never had to; and thus never thought to. It's doable within a very narrow and limited scope, see the stats at 5:40 here, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b9EP26f7bfw.htmlm40s . Note that the highest numbers are in the easier, cleaner, less dangerous trade crafts with higher opportunities for indoor/sheltered work.
@Rafael Acosta True. I did wonder, but not anymore. It's clear to me that equality of opportunity and choice under the law does not have to mean _sameness_ . That men and women are not the same is fine by me.
Our International Union offers apprenticeships in plastering and concrete masonry with a associate degree when you graduate. It has helped me and countless others over the years to sustain our families and provide health and retirement benefits. I can't thank my mentors enough. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K8ZZyUhy9IY.html
