My name is Rhianna and I love stories! I am from the UK, but currently live in Berlin. On my channel you can find videos about books, writing, life and poetry. I also sometimes write music themes based on books I really like. Thank you for stopping by!
McGlue is one of my favourite books, it got me out of a massive reading slump. An amazing read! Great video :) Edit: McGlue like Lapvona is very different from her other works, male main character and it’s historical fiction. However is is significantly better than Lapvona which I agree is not excellent
I visited Berlin and Saint George’s a year ago and spent an hour there buying books. As you mentioned the pricing is reasonable and I also loved the vibe there. My favorite bookstore in Berlin. Great video!
Oooh, for me the ultimate unhinged female protagonist book is I Love Dick by Chris Kraus. It's part-fiction-part-memoir about the author writing increasingly obsessive love letters addressed (but not sent) to her husband's colleague, Dick, who is more or less unaware of this increasingly invasive infatuation. It can be a very unpleasant read, it is a straight up invasion of privacy in the most uncomfortable way, but that also kinda makes it compelling.
Thanks for your thoughts on these books Rhianna. I have been exploring for books that my wife may enjoy, as her birthday is coming up. You have given me some ideas to check out.🙂
this was such an endearing vid!! thank u for sharing this!! it was so nice to hear about your experience w/ booktube and the ways in which it has shaped you 💖
Hello from Warsaw. What a nice video! The problem was not with Taylor's earpiece, but with the guitar port. If I remember correctly, it was mounted too close to another port. which caused some interference.
I've recently discovered your channel thanks to a Turkish video that you've made about your progress in the language. And I thought that listening to your English will help me as well :) It's beautiful and inspiring to watch the transformation that you've gone through over the years. However, what is constant in all of your videos is your authenticity. You shine bright being who you are and it's so refreshing! Thank you!! Stay awesome :)
Shuggie Bain has been on my list for a while. I am just scared that it is to sad. 😊 you explained it well though why we should read books that are more heavy
That's so exciting that you got the first draft out! Good luck with your book! 😊 I relate so much to finding a word that you use too often. I'm re-editing my manuscript now, and I'm going to have to go back again just to make sure I didn't overuse any words lol. Also, I have the same anxiety as you, so it's good to see that it's a common feeling! Not that I'm glad you're anxious... I just don't feel alone lol.
Hi Rhianna, Your desire to write a novel is so validating for you. I gather that you have learnt valuable lessons over the years that have enabled you to get to this point, with the desire still strong for you. The anxiety you have does not strike me as unusual. I can only imagine that many people would share this feeling with such an endeavour. I look forward to your next update, which I hope is telling us that you are still progressing in the direction you wish to reach. BTW, I love your picture about us being a guest of nature. We definitely do need to behave! Best wishes 🙂
Hi Rhianna, This video just randomly popped up for me and sounded intriguing....it was! Your trip to Izmir peaked my interest as I have been there and found it so memorable. I love your take on your trip and then to hear you talk about the book you read while there was just wonderful. I have now subscribed and look forward to listening to your previous musings and book ideas. Best wishes 😊
I love small content creators on RU-vid being randomly recommended to me! Love your video, channels like yours give such a pleasant and cozy feeling ❤ Amazing!
thank you for sharing <:) recently i headed up to heidelberg for the weekend with my family (car) and it was really nice. less far away and less of a change, though, haha. i should plan a trip for myself at some point, i miss taking the train
Nice list, there's overall a similarity in how I feel. Most of my bottom 10 are from the base album and the Anthology tracks are generally higher. Great to see love for the Albatross, definitely my no.1 on the album, it's just so beautiful across the board, the lyrics, melodies, vocals, instrumentation are all impeccable. I'm glad she has the second half of the album because overall I'm a bit take it or leave it about the base album; I think it struggles melodically and a lot of songs are quite repetitive. I don't particularly care for the subject matter on several of them where she's dreaming about cheating or fawning over a certain problematic band leader. Feel free to skim over my extended thoughts in my list: 1. The Albatross 2. Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus - so beautiful, nice lyrics 3. Who's Afraid of Little Old Me? - this is a hell of a vibe, love the intense production and lyrics 4. The Prophecy - very sad sentiments, beautiful song and great lyrics 5. I Hate It Here - beautiful vocals, very well written, I also adore the "secret gardens in my mind" lyric 6. The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived - pretty vocals and piano, gets a little repetitive but the bridge is amazing. Without it this would miss the top 10 7. Guilty as Sin? - Little bit torn with this, sonically one of my faves on the album, don't care for the lyrical content 8. Peter - interesting sound to this one, sort of old fashioned. Love the lyrics, vocals and music 9. Cassandra - great piano, well written. Interesting additional perspective on what happened when she got cancelled 10. But Daddy I Love Him - this is one of the better bops, good energy 11. loml - Just about her saddest song I think. Great lyrics, pretty and heartbreaking vocals 12. I Look in People's Windows - man her short songs are always so good. A pretty little song 13. The Bolter - catchy chorus, nice song 14. thanK you aIMee - fun song, satisfyingly bitchy lol 15. The Black Dog - pretty vocals, I enjoy "I hope it's shitty in the Black Dog". It's a much better and purposeful use of a swear word in her songs than usual 16. imgonnagetyouback - decent bop, I mostly love the post-chorus for the melody and vocals 17. How Did It End? - nice song, well expressed sad sentiments 18. So High School - I think this kind of tries to do too much. I like the sound, some elements are a bit shoehorned in 19. Fortnight - Decent song, maybe a little over-produced 20. So Long, London - some sad and beautiful lyrics, on further listens I'm a little disappointed at how repetitive the melody is 21. I Can Do It With a Broken Heart - this is a very weird song, with the whiplash of sad lyrics to a fun bop 22. Clara Bow - fairly pretty, though quite repetitive. She's done the "Nothing New" message a bit too much now 23. Fresh Out the Slammer - some catchy moments, subject isn't great 24. Florida!!! - could really do without "fuck me up Florida" as a lyric, latter half of the song sounds good 25. My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys - bridge sounds good, some of the chorus melodies are kind of annoying 26. Down Bad - a couple of nice moments in the verses, don't really care about it otherwise 27. Robin - some nice sentiments, pretty piano, but a very slow song I'm not always in the mood for 28. The Manuscript - as above 29. The Alchemy - this song is quite lazy imo, it sounds kind of similar to I Can Fix Him at times and the lyrics sound a bit thrown together 30. The Tortured Poets Department - a lot of weird stream of consciousness lyrics that don't fit into a song well 31. I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) - a little dull, I don't really care about anything this one offers
My favorites right now are (In no particular order): Who's Afraid of Little Old Me The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived The Black Dog I Look In People's Windows I Hate It Here I can't pick a favorite yet. The Albatross reminds me of Ivy as well. I have a feeling it's going to be in my top once I finally memorize it lol.
thanks, did you have to prove sufficient funds and new address to move there? and was it on a freelance visa? i’m planning on moving there in september but also don’t have an EU passport anymore 😢
@@indiastella661 Hi, yes I did have to provide this information for my freelance visa. It's a bit of a long process. I waited seven months for my appointment, but my freelance visa was approved at the appointment, so I could start working straight away after this. Good luck! 😃
