Over 60% of all wealth in UK and States is inherited. What we see now is a feature of capitalism not a subversion of it, just sayin! Great show this week🤗
The caller about the fuel allowance being cut, I have got few tips for you: Eat less avocado Cancel Netflix Get a first/second job Don't get a flat screen TV Or ultimately, sell your oversized house and move in a smaller house. Thanks to Truss, many others have had to do it, downsize, so they could balance the books.
If only, we could provide education to the followers of Faridge and Tiny Tommy Ten Names. Teach them how to read and write, then give them some "books" ! Perhaps we could cure their fear of Knowledge and Understanding !
If only Jeremy Corbyn had never been the leader of the labour party, Britain could have had 5 less years of Tory mismanagement and only 9 years of Tory Corruption and destruction to begin to repair. Thank you Corbyn (Not)
Your namesake James Joyce was a socialist , your question shows you have none of your namesakes intellect , and just so you know , the Right is always on the wrong side of history . Some self awareness would go some way to enlighten you of the possibility that you maybe the easily lead , weak and vulnerable one .
But they have taken our flag, and perverted it as well.. and quite a lot of this can be laid at the feet of people like Rupert Murdoch.. and Steve Bannon and Nigel Farage, etc etc, but they work for others with unbelievable wealth and barely live here.
I'm not up on your statistics, but we're going to have an average of 4 million people a year retiring out of the workforce, that's just under 12,000 a day, give or take a few hundred.. more people will need care, and more will be needed to fill those jobs and the retirees ' jobs as well - we need immigrants!!
I think the main arguement is against immigrants coming here on "the little boats" illegally, rather through official legal channels, which the Tories were dragging their feet on, and not easing the way for those with the much needed expertise and eagerness to work, rather than just people being scammed out of their monies, travelling in hope - other than just going from one place to another, either for safety or just desperate to get away for whatever reason they can be dumped by traffickers - trafficked by criminal "gangs" for want of a more suitable term. 😳🤔☹️
Talking of statistics, did you know that the educationally challenged (less than degree level) were the ones who voted in the majority, to LEAVE the EU. Most didn’t have any GCSEs.
Education, government investment , jobs, infrastructure projects - kind of things that grow the economy from the bottom up and middle out - but we need help to do these things, and revenue from the people that avoid it - the same people fanning the flames..
It's not just pension credit people can apply for go on turn2us and stop saying labour is attacking pensioners and under Tories we were already choosing eating or heating so I don't know what this woman is going on about
Unfortunately an army of RU-vidrs (some from America) are finding meaning in youths smashing up shops. What was said before the election has already came to pass, there is absolutely no way any good will be allowed to come with this current Labour administration.
Lucy Letby (white woman) no riots. Fred West (white man)no riots. Rose West (white woman) no riots. Peter Sutcliffe (white man) no riots. Harold Shipman (white man) no riots. Myra Hindley and Ian Bradey (white) no riots. Anyone else see a pattern???
The "nurse" Lucy Letby, murdered 7 children at least. But she didn't provoke a single riot by Tommy Ten Names' lager swilling thugs. But then "SHE WAS WHITE"
The UK housing shortage is manufactured by Westminster (HOC & HOL) because a great number of the members of these two establishments are landlords who are making a killing on collected rents
They are pissing off the business owners and residents over here, I'll tell you that for free.. 😤 I don't understand police, I really don't - they're the ones getting the brunt of this, and the FBI - how much does it take to convince them that these bully boys are the danger, not climate activists trying to get our attention and clean up this mess, get busy on making the future habitable.
Nick A., Of ALL Your Colleagues, ALL, You Are The Only One, The Only One, Not Afraid To Persist in Asking Pertinent Questions. You were Not The One Frazzled and Defensive, But Her. I Love You For That.
I am anti-Putin but also anti-Nato: it's supposed to _defend_ Nato countries, _not_ intervene in non-Nato wars. Wanting a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, I would've thought that was a good thing: that everybody in their right mind would want it. 🤔
Nick - please stop stating that '£250k' is 'personal expenses' for MPs. It's wrong, misleading and getting tiring... that budget paid my rent and food as a staffer, plus other minor matters such as office rent, other staffing, gas, electric etc.
25:20 Nick, it's not "Komala", which is yet another instance of mangled American pronunciation, like they say "vivOLDi" instead of Vivaldi or "LOS vegas" instead of Las Vegas. The reason you want to say "KA MA LA" is because (a) that's how its spelt; and (b) that's precisely how it should be pronounced.
@@larsbjrnson3101 It's a short "A", not an "O". Both Hindi and Sanskrit have an "O" vowel, and they'd use it in "Kamala" if it were needed there, but they don't. According to the dictionary, the phonetic spelling of Kamala is "kæmələ", which means that it should be pronounced something like "KAmuhluh". The "æ" vowel sound is the same one we find in cat (phonetic: "kæt") and hat (phonetic: "hæt")
@@ftumschk "Harris has long clarified to the public that her name is to be pronounced “comma-la, like the punctuation mark.” During her 2016 run for Senate, Harris released a PSA about her name. Eight years and many corrections later, the politician’s name still takes up space ― her campaign’s first ad released Thursday shows crowds chanting “Kamala” using the candidate’s pronunciation."
Taylor has been around since 2006, when she was 16, so 18 yrs and counting - and once you're a Swiftie, you're always a swiftie 😆 and then there's the moms and grandmas that go to the shows with the younger fans - it's not my kind of music, other than some of the duets doing covers of classics with the original singer.. but I really enjoy how my grandkids have grown up loving her - she's a good role model too, for the self esteem and self confidence..
I stand with the childless cat ladies: almost half the female population of America! Btw - men can be childless too: what have you to say about that JD Vance? Moron... I hope the Tory members pick Kemi Badenoch, Priti Patel or Suella Braverman for the leadership: it will ensure the Tories will remain for longer out of office
Partly. Both embrace the dystopia of the neoliberal faith but Murica also has to deal with the nightmare of the militant neofascist christian movement.
I’m fed up with the constant blah blah about H&M. Leave them alone people. It shows just how much you simply want to brown nose your face into the royalist agenda. Many women are simply jealous of her beauty, intelligence and courage. Oh and she is brown of course. Like me! Have a go at Andrew for a change.
I come to the conclusion that yours is the only podcast where the pain of our current UK situation and the world, is eased with the laughter which consumes me. Love ya.
It's Andy Beshear, not Steve Beshear. It's funny listening to people in the UK trying to speak about our crazy politics. Also the pronunciations. Kari is pronounced like Care ee, not Car ee.
1:21:19 "Kommala" is just an American accent thing, and they can mangle even the simplest word (e.g. "bayzil", "Eye-raq"). As the spelling "Kamala" suggests, this (Indian/Sanskrit) name has three "A" vowels and no "O" sound anywhere in it.
@@jeanne553 Not all British, by the way. As a Welsh person, I can manage "foreign" vowels (and consonants!) pretty well, and make an effort to pronounce words properly - regardless of the language/country they come from.
