Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 2014 I was able to set it to neutral by pulling the central console lever, but I cannot get it to move. the manual break is off. but is not moving. it has not been moved for over 6 months and the battery was dead.
Not in combo units like this one. You would have to buy a wall oven and a countertop microwave with a trim kit to have it built into the wall. In that case you would have to have a 110v outlet separate from the wall oven. I’ve done those several times in the past, building a separate shelf for the microwave and oven. It’s a lot easier and cheaper to replace just a microwave when it goes out before the oven.
@@efranklin85 Thanks for answering. Most manufacturers at this point have built-in microwaves available, the trick is finding a match between the oven and the microwave and the cost is generally higher as well.
It’s been a hot minute since I was an appliance installer, but it’s like riding a bike. The only thing that will change about this trade is the style of appliances to be installed.
When you do this and release e brake. Does the e brake auto engage when you open close drivers door? I guess i will find out eventually I just climb out of window. But that dont look to professional. Lol.
Yes. One of the many “safety features” that a lot of the newer cars will automatically apply the electric parking brake when the vehicle is in any other gear other than park. You can bypass this by pushing the button to release the brake with the door open, just be careful not to get run over by your own vehicle.
Unfortunately I am no longer installing appliances, but the best thing you can do for yourself when installing wall ovens is make sure you get your cutout perfect before you go to lift these thing in. Measure the outside box of the oven behind the lip that you would screw through. Secondly, get yourself a 2x4 sheet of 1/2” MDF board from a hardware supplier. Mount that to your 2x4 oven supports that typically go from front to back of the cutout (this is where you want to make sure it is level front to back and side to side, use shims to make adjustments). Get the oven properly wired up (turn on the power before putting it in the wall), and once all this is good, you and a buddy carefully lift the oven into the wall and you will be amazed at how easy the oven will slide in on that MDF board. Last pro tip I have, remove the oven doors and racks (check the user manual on how to do this for your oven), this will make it lighter and less likely to damage anything visible.
My jeeps not going back into park after that, it doesn't SAY the car is in neutral, it was though obviously. When I push the lever back down it still says not in park, but the lever says it is and car won't turn off
Sounds like some sensor on the transmission might be stuck which would prevent it from shutting off. I would contact your local Chrysler dealer and get some advice from them if possible.
It was from Laciny Brothers inc which is a local metal work shop in St. Louis that designs a makes custom stainless steel kitchens for mainly commercial kitchens. lacinybros.com The other place I order custom trim from that’s a bit more cost conscious is microtrim.com They’re based out of California and ship across the country.
No, the only way to tow a Jeep with four wheel drive is all four wheels on the ground with it in neutral as shown in my video or all four wheels off the ground like on a trailer. Please check your owners manual, it will have a towing section.
My husband & I were stranded at a bp gas station when we put reg gas in our diesel grand jeep Cherokee. The gas handle was green just like a diesel gas pump. We couldn’t start the engine because of that. It was Friday afternoon in a rural area & nobody could help us because of no place for emptying the gas out. We called a tow truck to deliver it somewhere that was able to fix it on Monday. Then we couldn’t get the jeep in neutral until I got on RU-vid & found your video. We are on vacation & our kids grandkids are coming up tonight to join us. We had a friend come & get us & take us back to our cabin. You saved the day! 😂🥰
That’s disappointing about the gas situation, but I’m glad you were able to get it on the tow truck without scrubbing the tires or hurting the transmission. Fueling stations need to have standard colors for their pumps to keep that from happening.
If you need a wall oven checked and maybe a better installation in the wall done structure wise what kind of contractor would a person contact? thank you
A good general contractor or handyman would be able to be to get it straightened and supported better. They wouldn’t have to go as fancy as I did in this video. I had placed a 1/2” thick MDF board on top of the 2x4s for ease of sliding the oven in and out of the opening. Most wall ovens are simply supported by 2x4s in the cutout. When the oven does get removed, it is best to have some kind of platform to set it on while the adjustments are made in the oven cutout. Depending on the type of oven, they can range from 150-350lbs.
That is exactly why I posted this. I was a tow truck driver at the time of this video and spent about 20 minutes calling a few Chrysler/Jeep dealers to figure it out because the last thing I wanted to do was shake this customers new Jeep off my bed while she was watching 🙄. Stay safe out there! 👍🏼
Just saved a guy who ran outta gas in front of a 20 car drive thru line with this, everybody clapped for me as I walked back to my car lol thx for this
jesushelps I’m glad this helped out! Sounds like it’s still an issue with this model year Jeep, like FCA hasn’t issued any kind of recall for it. 🤦🏼♂️ God Bless!
Bin Fu, that’s fantastic! I’m glad this has helped you. Chrysler has gone downhill in the past decade. The Grand Cherokee is a really nice SUV, but the longevity and mechanics has most definitely suffered. My wife drives a Jeep Compass and we’ve had several problems with it and it hasn’t even reached 60k miles yet. Toyota is where we’re going for our next vehicles. 👍🏼
Gerson Suero that is an oven lift dolly. It has a platform on it that the oven sits on, a couple pulleys, and basically a boat trailer winch that allows me to raise and lower the platform. I’ll try to find a link to share that has this on it.
Richard Koldenhoven I pull the oven out as far as it will allow and I work with it from there. If the cord (aka whip) isn’t long enough on the old oven I will take the top panel off and disconnect the wiring from the oven itself. Now if the cord on the new oven is also too short, I will add a second junction box with either new wire to match the gauge of the house side of the supplied electric or if the old oven whip is still in good shape I’ll use that as my extension to the second junction box and wire the new oven to that. The second option is debatable if it’s ok practice or not, but I have never had a call back or have been the cause of melted wiring or fires. If you’re unsure then go with adding new wiring to get the length you need, but MAKE SURE YOUR GAUGE WIRE MATCHES OR EXCEEDS THE POWER REQUIRED. 10/3 handles UP TO 30Amp, 8/3 UP TO 40Amp, 6/3 UP TO 50Amp. Check your breaker for the amp rating. Electricians will match the gauge of wiring to the breaker.
Pro job, but, it's one of those "awww damn" installations. There was an opportunity to have it installed much lower and fill in the top. At this height, the upper oven is nearly rendered useless for half of the female population.
Chris Robinson not sure if you can rent an oven lift dolly like that or not. That one cost $520 and it was used. Worth every penny if you do this full time like myself. 👍🏼
Nice install! I have the same appliance and after install the microwave works but I get a communication error when trying to use the lower over. The tech who came out said a board needs to be replaced. Does that sound right for a brand new oven or could the wiring be wrong? Either way they said I have to remove it before the next appointment. :( I was hoping to just slide the microwave out to get at the wiring but I can't figure out how.
Jonathan West I will say that it's very rare to have a new GE oven have a problem out of the box. It's not impossible, just rare. An issue that I have run into in the past is one half of the 220V breaker was dead which would only allow the ovens to get a relatively low 235 degree temp and not a degree higher. So it is entirely possible that maybe the tech wired it up wrong OR one half of your breaker is dead. If the problem persists after the repair, have your electric checked. 👍🏼
Apliance Guru Eric Thanks! I pulled the oven out and checked the wires and it seems fine. The microwave works great so it's getting power but the control panel isn't able to communicate with the oven. I'll wait for the part and see how that goes. Thanks again.
