Should I use the diamond stones that come with this set dry or moistened with water or doesn’t it matter? I’ve seen conflicting recommendations in online discussions. Xarilk instructions themselves aren’t clear when they write “please do not drip water … do not rub pulp off when sharpening … the stones will not produce dust easily during use “
This is a very controversial topic. With reading forums, comments, and watching videos I can’t really tell you if you should or shouldn’t. I have used dry and moistened. I’d feel as if with a guided system most people would tell you to use them dry. I personally prefer them wet because they are easier to clean. In my opinion your stones arent as effective if they are full of metal particles. But you need to make sure you properly dry them or they will rust. Another thing to consider these specific stones are thin, so over saturating them will probably result in them peeling eventually. I’m nowhere near a professional and my recommendation won’t hold much weight. My suggestion is to probably keep them dry while sharpening and clean them after use.
Its a TSPROF kadet clone. I understand not wanting to spend $500+ on a sharpening system but they are so many great options that aren't clones for a good price. You can get a Hapstone RS for $200 and a phenomenal set of resin bonded diamond stones for $130. You would have a professional system and stones for right at $320 and you wouldn't be supporting a company that steals designs from other hard working companies. I understand they are only so many ways to make a sharpening system but that gen 3 your reviewing is an almost exactly replica of the tsprof kadet minus the stone holder design and the base. Great review though.
You’re not wrong. As much as I want to support us made things. Most of the knife sharpening systems aren’t made in the US. Although it is a clone it is a nice beginner sharpening system. For most people who can’t justify spending 300 dollars and up on a sharpening system, it’s one of the only better options out there. It’s sad to say that even if it’s a US product, usually it is still sourced from another country. For someone who doesn’t even sharpen knives that often or even the correct way. It’s a decent solution. I am someone who believes in quality but at the same time that’s why these replicas and they are so appealing because some of the prices of things aren’t justifiable for someone who sharpens 5 times a year. All in all I agree with you 100 percent, the first generation. I was not aware that it was a knock off but as soon as I opened the gen 3, I realized it was of the ts prof because that was one I was looking at. All in all, for a knock off its of decent quality besides the stones. It’s a sad world we live in man and the only way I can justify me buying a budget sharpener is because I don’t want to spend 500 dollars on a knife sharpener. If I’m going to invest that much it would be to take it even further and get a bench sharpening system. Thanks for watching !! Great points and I hope I don’t offend you with my reply.
@@tipsyrippers i agree with you in a lot of ways and no sire you didn't offend me in any way. I believe 2 people should be able to discuss something and neither get offended but in today's time seems like everyone gets offended over Stuff that doesn't a reason to be offended over.
100% you’re right. I’d truly hope this may force some of the brands to atleast make a more budget friendly model. There needs to be a better solid entry/middle grade sharpener. To be honest I originally thought it was a Russian company. I was for sure mistaken. lol 😂
@@tipsyrippers fact's I know its a Chinese sharpener but the Ruixin pro 009 is a phenomenal system for like $40 the stones it comes with are ok but id recommend buying better ones. If you end up wearing those diamond plates out i recommend the Venev Centaur resin bonded diamond stones they are double sided and the full set is $130 its 3 double sided stones and can put a beautiful mirror edge on your knife without stropping. They can cut through any blade steel and honestly id say they will last a lifetime. Ive probably sharpened 200+ knives with mine and they are still brand new.
you're pushing the stone way too hard and not stropping the stone downards and away. its a diamond stone do not wet it! youll ruin the stone you also never fick the stone off the edge man shit so many rules broken here. sorry man you went through the effort of making the video but your fucking your knife up
You're using it wrong... That is not the correct way of using a sharpening rig like this. You should be using a sawing motion or push motion towards the spine of the blade , NOT pushing it along the edge..... Look up Neeves Knives , he has tons of vids on all kinds of systems.
Hmm. I’m not sure theres just one way to sharpen knives using a guided system though. The goal is to get a consistent burr. The motion I am using is pushing. On a small knife it’s easier to get a consistent apex performing a consistent motion. The goal itself is to create a burr. I don’t think you’re wrong but there’s more ways to sharpen than one. I’ve watched 30 videos from 30 different content creators and not one of them does it the same way. I don’t mind being informed of things that are wrong because I’m here to learn. I’ve done it both ways, with very similar results and I find the method I used easier on small knives and the blade results in the same form. I fully appreciate tips and suggestions but saying I’m doing it wrong is subjective.
@@tipsyrippers I havent seen a single vid of someone using a guided system like this. Everyone tries to use the full length of the stone with the saw motion or the push. It's the fastest way of taking of material , gives a nice consistent scratch patern , keeps the wear on the stone nice and even. Watch ANY sharpening vid from someone that knows what they're doing , they ALWAYS try to use the full length of the stone.
If you’re interested in purchasing the Gen 3, Xarilk provided us with a 10% off code to provide to you guys! Use code: 10KF85LZ for 10% off your order. We make no commission off of this code. This is purely for you guys. It ends 09/12/2024.
@@tipsyrippers Does it do anything weird on the stainless, like overpulling or under pulling. Do you have to do anything other than changing out the nose?
@@bigtoad45 the yardage I used was fair and I only used game loads to get an idea of the pattern. It was a quick test. But I’m sure you learned something from my explanation of the guns features and specs
I bought the HRN 216 VLA With blade stop & i love this mower. It so much smoother & so much more pleasurable then any of the other mowers in this price range. I know cause i bought them all & returned the junk. Briggs has gone to total shit & ill never have another one either.
@@michaeldavis6550 I agree nothing really lasts anymore either I went from a Briggs and SCRAP EM push mower to this mower and I don’t mind push mowing my entire lawn with this Honda.
I saw it the other day at the dealership. If it did not say Can-Am on the side, but maybe Kawasaki or Yamaha they would have made a sale. Nice machine for us people that are getting older or have a family.
@@tipsyrippers I'm using my HRX for a 1/4 acre residential lot but I need a tough mower for Bermuda grass. By the way, my previous mower was a Husqvarna that lasted me 20 years thanks to its Honda engine.
Thanks! We try our best to only promote things or review things we buy ourselves. It sure is hard sifting through what’s real and what’s bs. Thanks for the comment and watch! We appreciate it so much !
Not showdown the engine honda gcv but teardown the engine same and watch inside what happened they put camshaft in plastic pvc and painted with acrylic silver the same color of metal of piece instead everyone gets deceives
Hey mate, thanks for the video. As a suggestion you may want to get rid of the background music in the future, adds nothing to the video and just makes it harder to hear you.
I had a focus with the turbo 4. No issues. Really. My wife has an edge. Same engine it’s great. We have a frontier at work so I’m familiar with them also everyone’s different
They are nice and big and don’t shake around a lot and can see out of them. The one thing is. They get covered in mud and dirt very easily making it hard to see.
If I was set up for this I would love to shoot TAC I use to shoot 2 3D shoot every weekend and use to go to nationals 3D shoots but my right shoulder injury probably wouldn’t let me enjoy it anymore thanks for sharing
@@tipsyrippers ya that would be cool. I can still shoot a bow but idk if I stay accurate with that many targets but the crossbow thing would be cool to
Registration does suck! This year I registered as a group and still didn’t get the courses we wanted but it is what it is. There’s always a chance you can shoot a different course after 1 pm.
Blame dialed arxos for these outrageous sight prices. They were the first to put out at 550 sight and people started buying them. Of course Uv was going to capitalize off that.
You did a great job on the restoration on the MZ. I like some of the mounts you have behind you on the walls, that corner table looks awesome. Keep SHARING your PASSION!
Thanks I also did a Marlin model 25 for a Guy. There’s a video on that. All those mounts I came up with and made them all myself ! Let me know if you wanna see a how to video on them !

For sure, although it’s simple, I think it has its place in everyone’s pack, regardless of skill. We appreciate your comment ! You keep up the great work as well.
