I do not. The buckle is enough to keep my foot in place. I suppose it helps my skates are M12 that were VERY tight when I got them. Now that they are broken in, they just fit my foot perfectly, and I don't need laces to not get heel lift or whatever.
You got it dude. Just remember that tons of grinds are a small movement away from something you can already do. A kind grind is a frontside where you open up your knee and hip on your topside side. Be mindful of your foot placement and keep that booty hanging above the transition. Good luck!
Learned this a few months ago. IT IS scary first but If you approach with a wide arch it's getting easier. I also noticed that If i Look under my arm IT helps alot 💪
Yes, it is in great condition. Unfortunately it is a 4h drive away so I don't get to ride it too often. I also heard they plan to lower it by 2ft over the next year as not enough skate boarders dare ride it. A shame, and the same city already has a 12ft vert, so that makes me sad!
Thanks for the video. I was thinking about spending $40 on these knee pads till I watched this video. Now I'll just get a 3-piece set from Amazon for $20 and see if that works lol
What do you think got you to the “click” moment? I’m really struggling to get boot down - it usually turns into a frontside. Been stuck in the same rut for months! Any advice much appreciated!
It's amazing how your brain holds you back, especially learning as an 'older' person. The skatepark is a struggle for me at the moment, but I'm keen to conquer the transition!
I hope you do! Just stick with it and you'll get there! I know all about mental blocks and even if you don't have them, learning new tricks and making them feel natural only gets harder 😥
Right! Couldn't make it last year because of the floods... I hope so, but what is the date? Haven't been on a Vert since November 2022, when I came to Wellington and we couldn't skate with you on Sunday because of the rain...
Yeah, got to get the balance right. That's the biggest struggle I suppose. If I was more into the ramp, the wheel bite issue would probably go away as well.
@@Fredward1986 You could also shoot him an email to check if he'll restock them. He's done that a few times when I needed something. While I'm sure the knee and elbow pads in that pack are good, they are probably not as good as the Triple 8 KP22 knee pads.
@@keeponblading I ended up getting some ennui wrist guards from Kalvin and found some awesome Gain knee pads on marketplace. My son has the protec wrist guards and the top plastic does definitely float around. It would be fairly easy to remedy with some stitches, but shouldn't be necessary to start with!
