I feel like Megill really struggled the 1st couple of innings, but once he settled down he looked great. I know it's the White Sox, but still counts. It's just a bummer he got hurt and hasn't been the same since. I remember from 2022-2023 the pitching staff tried to change the type of pitcher he was and made it way worse. But also looks like he can't go back to himself with the high heat either. Such a bummer.
I personally don't think game 3 was on the pitching. Bats went 1-9 with RISP, they need to be better. We should have easily scored more than 2 runs against the Marlins. Still won 2/3, not the worst but yes swept would have been awesome since losing to the As.

No mention of his rbi total? U know u young ppl these days totally dismiss batting avg and rbi. Idgaf what anybody says. It mattered 30-40 yrs ago and it still matters now because rbi shows that I can hit situationally. Albert Pujols Manny Ramirez Juan Gonzalez all with their eyes close yearly drive in 130-140 even 150 runs u going to tell me that shit doesn’t matter? I agree that I should’ve mentioned the RBI totals that’s bad on my part and I’ll respect your opinion on that you don’t have to look at stats the way I do but come on now don’t compare Winker to elite talents I like the add but he’s not that caliber of a player
I’d like to mention that after sleeping on the trade and getting the return I really like this get and can say I’m probably over blowing some of the issues. I forgot to mention too that Winker is ELITE in the clutch having very impressive numbers with RISP! Looks like Stuart is the guy going the other way which is a prospect I liked but you still do this deal easily for the way Winker is swinging the bat currently.
They wont trade Pete; he's a fan favorite. If he continues to stink, then not signing him after the season will be more forgiven by the fan base. If he turns it around and performs well, then try to sign him in the off-season.
Knowing how STEARNS works, if he makes a trade, it will be for a cheap low tier player. If he makes a big move, it will be to get rid of ALONSO and McNEIL.
Digging your content. I love how this year has been turning out, honestly in regards to the Mets. As it stands we can add pieces that won't cost much in prospect capital(bullpen backup of) and start this second half with a good rotation and one of the best lineups in the MLB without Alonso being a big factor. Amazing
Agreed on the pitching. Sooner or later our offense will come back down to Earth. Can't be walking the ballpark, will definitely lose us games in the future if it continues.
