I take great pride in the fact that for the most part, I present my videos in one take, meaning I provide an authentic commentary on the subject I'm discussing. I find that scripted videos can often be quite robotic and insincere and I want to my videos to be as authentic a relatable as possible. Hilarious Dean!!!! 😂. But entirely accurate observations. I love Stan Solo and am also a big supporter (as well as other custom makers too). I just recently picked up a SS re-release of the vinyl Cape Jawa on the ANH card back. For $60, it looks better than anything I could possibly afford and displays just the same as the "actual" item. While I would love to own an original, the value per dollar is hard to justify when you have such great aftermarket products available. Had a good time watching this video. Over my years of collecting and being on social media platforms, I've heard all the same trash talk out there about the custom & reproductions. But I sure am happy that they're available for all of us to enjoy, cuz that's what it's all about. Mouth Breather Cameo was 🤌
i used bricklink to figure out what sets space sets i had as a kid too. But mine was boot saled or given away so i had to buy the parts or sets. Strangely, i too have no interest in adding sets i dint have as a kid

It's an endless discussion. I bought a vintage Luke farmboy today without saber. Years ago I bought some fine repro lightsabers from The Fans Strike Back. I will use the repro saber on the Luke figure for display. Would I sell it, than I would mention the repro saber. No problem. Never spend $2000 on a figure that will deteriorate in time. Just enjoy whatever you want because that is all about the playful child in each of us.

I don’t see how it’s any of these peoples business what you choose to buy and display. Frankly, I’m of the similar mindset of getting the most for your buck. Why spend thousands on one vintage item when you can find a quality reproduction for less and spend that same amount to buy multiple vintage items? From an investment standpoint, it makes zero sense.

My collection is about 50% vintage and 50% reissue or new figures. Often i go for a reissue if its identical to the original as it will be cheaper, complete and in good condition. I will pickup a vintage item if i can aquire one for a fair price in good condition with most or all of its accessories. If it wasnt for reissue i wouldnt own a G1 Optimus Prime / Soundwave, Toxic Crusader Toxie, Boglin, certain StarWars figures / Ghostbusters.
We are just collectors, not museums. Everyone should just be able to collect what they want without being pressured into some kind of elite nonsense. I quite like the paintings of Davinci, but I damn sure can’t afford an original 😂

I agree, who cares if it's a fake, some things are so overpriced, it's just not worth it. You could buy a $5000 figure, then up and die the next day. Anything can happen in life. And if you live alone like me, whoever comes to clean up your house could just see it as old junk and just throw it all in a bin and donate it to a thrift store. And then a family member will spend another $5000 on your funeral. A sad end to a lifetime of collecting. What did that collector gain by having an expensive "real" figure versus a good replica? Nothing. I calculate a Loss of $10000 in that scenario.
Couldn't agree more, Dean! My motto is do what makes you happy and screw the people who tell you how you should collect or even worse, berate you for how you collect! The way I see it is: this is my property and no one on the planet gets to tell or bully me about what I do with my own property!
Of course on top of the quality of the vinyl cape Jawa, Stan solo used to give them away for free with spending over £100, so there’s no better deal than the generosity of Stan solo 👍
Lucky enough to still have my childhood Vinyl Cape Jawa. Funny enough, it was my least favourite figure. By a mile. Why? Coz it didn't look like the scabby little bastards in the movie. Hell, I was a "screen accurate snob" way before it even became a thing, lol. But I totally get where you're coming from. For the longest time, I was dead keen on picking up a Toltoys/Palitoy Death Star. Dude was asking $1200 at a recent local toy fair. Eh, it was in okay condition. Not great. But it got me thinking: "Do I really wanna fork out that much for a toy?" Um, no. Not really. Hell, for that amount of money, I could pretty much buy everything I want for my collection and still have change. Plus, I've got that pesky hip replacement coming up, which is gonna cost way more than a cardboard playset, oof. This year, I've quickly learned that getting old can be a real bitch. Also expensive 😆 P.S. Poindexter was on point!

Once idiots bring “not having enough money to buy the real thing” into the picture, it only proves how unbelievably lame they are to think so highly of their collection, that they feel it necessary to attempt to put others down. They only say those things because Repro is a threat to their delusion of being in some upper echelon of collector prestige… On a side note, man, I would love to have a MASK Condor like that again… All my MASK toys are gone unfortunately, but I fondly remember my Mom buying me a Condor from an Eckerd’s after school one day.
