Personally we like the Chrome. My 23 TRD OR came with the Blackout chrome crap. I took it off as soon as I found Metallic Red overlays for the “V6” and the Tacoma stamp in the tailgate. I then found an “topical” Lava Red to go over the face of the Chrome “Tacoma” badges on the front doors. They’re Lava Red on the Face, while the chrome surround is still intact. I also found chrome door handle overlays and a chrome front grill. Everyone and their brother has been putting black overlays on their 3rd generation Tacoma since they became available. I HATE Death Black, but LOVE beautiful Red. In fact I had my White TRD OR double cab 2 toned in Barcelona Red metallic, which matches very well with the Lava Red Leather seat covers with black trim and stitching from Katzkin. My truck has the Premium and Technology pkgs, so it came with the Death Black Leather interior, that became popular, along with Gloomy Grey in 1990. Every automaker have been shoving those 2 colors down everyone’s throats for almost 35 years and frankly it’s Old and Outdated. I want my truck to be a 1 of a kind, just like I turned my last truck into. Any dead fish can float down stream with the rest, but I choose to swim upstream where it’s less crowded.
@@Doc1855 I’ve never been a chrome fan it’s on just about every vehicle in some form or another. I can appreciate it on old classic cars though. What I like about these mods is that you can paint them whatever color you want. I’ve thought about painting mine an orange color just to be a little different. I’m not knocking your choice to keep the chrome, it’s what you like and that is awesome. For those that want to cover it, there are lots of options out there.
Nice list! I got them when i bought the truck in 2021 and they still look great. I’m deciding on taking the v6 off though for a cleaner tailgate, why advertise its a v6 lol
you still digging this shower suite? Really debating getting one for my teardrop to use for changing and potentially potty. How does it do in wind/rain? Thank for the vid!
I got mine from @OverlandGearGuy. Here is the link. This is a custom bag and won't be returnable. overlandgearguy.com/products/black-stone-14-padded-grill-bag?_pos=1&_sid=16fdc2e45&_ss=r
@@Mumfy64I will message him. I was going to get some ditch lights but it seems easier to get a switch pro setup. 1- have you looked into the garmin power switch instead of the switch pro? 2- Have you explored your options to replace your oem battery? I get lots of mixed answers
@@AFGixxeR88 how many accessories do you plans on running? I have seen the garmin option and like some of the features it has. It wasn’t around when I bought my SwitchPros and auxbeam and Spods didn’t have what I wanted at that time. I did end up having a faulty SwitchPros unit and contacted their support team and had to send the unit in for testing. They sent me out a new unit and haven’t had any issues since. Ok, the Garmin unit is nice. I think they really thought about their app connection and user experience. The unit itself is compact but only limited to 6 attach points per unit. I do like that you can add units for more accessories. As for the battery replacement, I haven’t had any issues with the factory battery so far. I typically have run them until they fail, so I haven’t looked into a replacement. I am however looking at doing a dual battery setup so that I can run the accessories off a dedicated battery and the main battery can just focus on starting the truck.
@@Mumfy64 well I don’t know yet as I’m still stock, mostly even a oem battery. For sure I want ditch lights first off, roof light bar, a front bumper light bar. Personally, I’ve always liked the tactile buttons and the clean form factor of the switch pro mounted in the oem left panel. I follow blaze offroad who does very nice wiring installs and kits. He mentioned in a comment, he stopped selling switch pros kits bc they have been faulty for users and he only offers garmin and xpod now.
Hello Mumfy. Just another day in paradise 😊. I'm going to have to watch the replay. We are about ready to start driving for close to an hour. Take care my friend 🙏
How are you running / fitting a full size spare? I’m getting a lift with new wheels and tires next month. Getting these tires and I thought a full size would be too large to fit under the truck. Also have a 3rd gen trd off road
