@@woodenclocks Thank you for your answer. I only have a 3018 cnc machine so a lot of the parts are too big for my machine. Do you think if i just reduce the size of all parts by like half or something the mechanism would still work? or is there some reason why it wouldnt
I bought your plans for clock 22 quite some time ago. This weekend I finally cut out most of the pieces and will hopefully have it assembled before too long.
Very cool as always. I enjoy seeing the new design. I like the pendulum Electro mechanical setups. I imagine a small solar panel and capacitor, to get through the night, would make this infinite powered. If it runs for 3 months on a AA, I mean, that thing sips power. Perhaps a joule thief circuit so it could run on "dead" batteries that don't deliver enough voltage to run most devices, sub 1.2v. Makes me wonder how low the pendulum mechanisms operate at. So after 3 months when it stops working, what is the voltage of the AA battery?
Hello Brian, I love this one. Are plans available for it. I couldn’t find it on your web site. I live in San Diego, CA and have built a number of Clayton Boyers clocks. I’m currently working on a half scale version of his Swingtime clock, all 3D printed. My wife would love this one in her kitchen. Let me know if or when it might be available. Thanks, and really enjoy your YT content and your web site. Bob.
These are both wonderful. A great way to make sure this Grampa always has something to do. I just know that curious little fingers are going to go exploring and break this or that little part. Grampa gets to show up with a new part and be the 'Hero' of the day.
I Thank you for the heads up on that, I did draw it by hand so that I could include all the mounting points within the profile so it is not a direct copy, and I am not selling the files, so is that ok yoy think?
Grazie Giovanni.
1:41 The clocks on the right are: Clock 37 - Starter Clock, Clock 32 - Compound Pendulum, Clock 48 - Compact 24 hour clock (also known as ‘The Crown’) and Clock 43 - Another Compact 24 hour clock, respectively. The two other clocks on the left are: Clock 25 and Clock 50 - Compact 24 hour clock with Gravity Escapement. Also, the clock’s weight appears to be too light.
What a great looking clock. I currently do not have the space for a shop. I plan on correcting that matter this winter, then I can tackle some neat projects like this.
Brian... Can you post the link to purchase the stl files? My printer is ready, and I already have a few of those single AA battery drive units I got off eBay a few years ago, however I do not see the #53 for sale on your site ... I'm all in on this one!! 💗💗
Where did you get the electrical pendulum mechanism from Brian ? Looks like something I would be interested in for my first cog clock when I get around to it 🙂
As you surmise it is An Electromagnet switchedcon and off by an electronic circuit, this comes altogether inside the Pendulum drive unit so a simple connector part you make is used to conect it to the drive train
