I think the Romans had the best shot of survival is if they had won Manzikert as even during the restoration of the Empire lead by the Komnenos dynasty still had fully recovered from the disaster and the empire would contract again as soon as slightly below average leaders took charge.

To see lot of people here crisizing arab invasions as if they were peaceful and never assaulted arabs just let me remind you Byzantines and sassanians always invaded and meddled in arabia preislam they even used arabs as vassels Islam and the subsequent Arab invasion was most deserved for these two powers who have caussd nothing but chaos and bloodshed on these lands for hundreds of years in their other forms

Maori people in new Zealand are having more kids than the Anglos, so it is very likely that Maori will dominate the Island in the future tbh. They are already quite big part of the population.

Because the Roman Empire’s logistics network was the Mediterranean littoral. Anything too far away from that was too difficult to hold.

You just repeated russian history whithout mongols. You underestimate the influence of the Mongols and Turks. Before the Mongols, the Russian principalities copied the Turkic ladder system of inheritance. Then they copied the Mongolian system of governance. There were many moments in Russian history when it could have been destroyed and it was saved only by the centralized, despotic system inherited from the Mongols. Without this, Rus' would have been a second Poland and most likely would have been torn apart by its neighbors - Poland, Lithuania, Sweden and the Ottomans. And in the south there was powerful turkic tribes Polovcy, Pechenegi. If they stay russia would not get access to black sea. Historians underestimate mongol influence, they destroyed turkic, arab, persian states, which were main western rivals. It gave west adventage, they started developing when all others were in ruins and in endless civil wars for next 500 years, started by different mongol princes.

Unfortunately that's wrong. Attaturk didn't play as much of a role as turks claim they did. That would be the scenario of the venizelos hadn't lost the election of 1920. Or if the german king of greece listen to the greek generals instead of his own ideas. Attaturk just took advantage of something the greek generals wanted the german king will happen if he continue with his plans

Something tells me that in a timeline like this, the Turkic peoples would probably adopt something else such as Zoroastrianism. All while trying to repeat the success of the Mongols.

Caliphat part is wrong. When Atatürk abolished Caliphat, countries which reacted the most was Western countries. Caliphat was a gather of all Muslims in 1 hand monopoly to control them. Western powers thought that now Arabs aren’t dependent on the Caliph, but can demand an independent nation state, which means to Western powers losing a colony. They were shouting at Atatürk through newspapers, media and so forth. The West would have remained Caliphat for sure.
@justinpachi3707

11:56 The Ottomans abolishing the Title of Caliph is frankly absurd. They didn't want to do this in otl and it was met with protest within the Islamic World. It's about as reasonable as the Pope abolishing the office of the Holy See and referring to himself merely as the "Bishop of Rome."

I have to stop the video to express my personal opinion, before listening to yours. After UNBIASED research on the geopolitical World environment at that time, Germany and other Axis member fail to provide Turkey with necessary military back up in the area, allowing British invasion. Talking about the Arabs will be a waste of time that could be "misunderstood" by many who still refusing to face the truth. Al-Masir - Al Gharar. Two of the first words that motivate to research Islam. WOW !!! Now, I am back to video ...

Yeah, choke on it, you destroyers of Hellenism, just don't say, that we are similar, lived together and other hypocrite cliche phrases.If you think there will be no consequences for the Greek Genocide 1914-1922, you are greatly mistaken. Now it's your turn to pay for mistakes of ancestors.

i dont know if you can believe it but aproxximately %20 of turkish population thinks ataturk as a jew,british spy, destroyer of islam, destroyer of ottomans and a evil big guy that destroyed religion. people are utterly stupid.
@coolcool2117
@coolcool2117 9 дней назад
Maybe you should read a book and widen your horizons a bit before calling other people stupid. He was anti-Islam, he came from a region that was pre-dominantly Jewish and we don't even know who his father is let alone his grandparents. He might be Jewish he might be not but to claim you are stupid by thinking it is possible is peak brainrot.

Even without Atatürk we would have fended off the invaders at some point, because wars are won not just with one man's resolve,but the strength of an entire nation. But without his vision, Turkey would be in shackles for many more years.Side notes: -the picture at 3:34 shows Mustafa Kemal in Tripolitania during the Italo-Ottoman war (1913), not in Gallipoli (1915) - 5:45 The "Kurdistan" region would be the subject of a plebiscite which would vote on the creation of a new Kurdish state. In addition, the various Entente occupation zones and the Straits International zone are not mentioned in this map.
@VirgilJJacks

But, and this is a very personal opinion, It was him who did start the "Kurdistan Issue", and now we see the negatives consequences. Turks - Kurds, fingers of the same hand !!!
