Stupid question here. Bought a license plate reading camera and didnt realize it uses 720nm ir. Its a friggin bright red bulb. Cant use that. If i get an external illuminator thats totally invisible (940nm) will the camera be able to pick it up, even thougb its not the same frequency as the camera originally used?

@@mickc6700 I use either lead or modeling clay myself, but you can use whatever you want to get the job done. There are some some good videos out there explaining how to get the perfect CG. I hope this helps.

@@mikesrcgarage Mike, this whole thing started with a stupid jar and some denatured alcohol 🤦🏻😆 next thing you know I’m watching videos about the Lockwood pulse jets and I’m like “ that looks simple” 🧐 simple in construction? kind of. simple in designing one that actually works and you can get running? Not so much 🤬😫 but after two months of messing around, I finally have something that is easy to start and runs pretty good. Now that I am at this point I was thinking of putting it on a bicycle, but I don’t think I am getting much thrust at all. Considering I need about 20 pounds of thrust to equal one horsepower, I’m not too optimistic.

I did not have a bunch of lids for the same jar, so I wish I could say one way or the other. But I will say this runs better than any other combination I have ever tried, probably about seven or eight different jars. My thought was to try to get some air down low and not have an easy exit for the air to leave. I am probably wrong on every level and just got lucky. 🤷🏻😁
@@GordonScottYankeeEngineer I just got it running and all I had to do was get a taller jar and a penny sized whole at the top and I put it in the snow for a minute and it worked perfectly and the only reason it stopped was because I had to put it out before it broke. I’m still interested in the dimensions and everything because I want to be able to do it out of snow. Thanks so much though.
@@GordonScottYankeeEngineer you don’t need to subscribe back. This is my alt account and my other account has over 40k subscribers but I’ll still take it. The only way I was able to get mine running was putting it in snow but if you don’t have snow you can put it in ice water. What I do is I put a small amount of isopropyl alcohol in the jar. Blow in it about 3 times. Put the lid on and do about 3 shakes. Then I put it in the snow and wait about 5 seconds then light it up. It’s guaranteed not to start right away but after doing this about 5 ish times it gets running till it breaks. The cold dose something but I don’t know what.
It can be used for many things. They can be used medically to treat athletes foot. It can be used for camping in starting a fire. It could be used to treat water and is also a preservative, like when growing bananas. 😉 they wouldn’t look so great when they got here if not for a little preservation. 😁

Potassium permanganate + H2O2 = hella steam, I 3d printed a crude nozzle and i used it to create a prototype rocket engine for physics class. the nazis used it back in the 40's, and yeah, it worked and produced thrust

@@GordonScottYankeeEngineer for my final project i made a whole ass like edited video on orbital mechanics and rocketry, so 😅. You can also use silver mesh as a catalyst instead of KMnO4. Also my bad it was hydrogen peroxide, I forgot to read the subscript 2 by the O lmfao
