I'll keep recommending August 3, 2020 of RAW, the Nitro the day after Starrcade 99, and the Nitro after New Blood Rising. I think all 3 were worse than this show.
AEW Dynamite from 25.08.2021 was horrible. MJF at his worst, bad matches, barely any stars, Brock Anderson in the main event and overall way to much of the Cody Rhodes nepotism stable at this show
I was there for a few impact episodes and HARDcore Justice. The invasion angle i was right behind them, as a kid who couldn't go to ONS this was fuckin awesome!!!
You hit the Jeff Jarrett nail on the head you're absolutely right well at least for me having JJ as the champion being a WCW fan while WWF had Stone cold the Rock and HHH made me lean towards WWF.
I Always saw the attitude era as starting at King of the ring 96 where Austin won the tournament and birthed Austin 3:16, Mankind beat the Undertaker in a match with lots of Hardcore spots and Pillman said he'd r*** an pillage the WWF. Unfortunately it's waa a slow start as they kept stop and starting the mote risky stuff until WrestleMania 13 where the way forward became clear.
It's funny to me that the British and Scottish hate on old WCW like it's novel. Us Americans and Canadians watched all this shit WCW tv back when it happened because in North America we were lucky enough to be able to watch both. In England and the rest of Europe, they were only lucky enough to get their beloved WWE. So the funny part to me is it's always these WWE-obssesed Europeans marks with youtube channels and podcasts create these pointless hate pieces on WCW. It's as if they just discovered the 1999/2000 shitstorm that was WCW under Russo. WCW sucked in 2000 but it's no worse than the shit product WWE has been putting out for the past decade. At least there were actual stars back and then and something other than boring in ring product was happening. WWE never ever reached the heights of WCW circa 1996 to 1998. There was nothing better. But you had to be there experiencing it in the moment. Not watching it back with the benefit of hindsight 24 years later.
People keep saying Russo wasn't as bad as he's made out to be, but nearly all of the stupidest angles and worthless gimmicks have him so highly involved that I'm convinced that even Jim Cornette isn't exaggerating.
This show was stupid and all over the place but it wasn't boring i watched it and i was entertained (at times for the wrong reasons 😅) i think it was better than Raw 2008-2021. Mike Awesome and Vampiro are two missed oportunities had they booked them right they would've been stars. Too many people stuffed in one show affected the Quality of it. I think WCW would've last way longer if they would've made things simple and not so convoluted cause they had an Awesome roster full of potential. The gifted Glenn Gilberty how's he gifted? Always gets me 😂
What happens when a multi billions corporation buys a wrestling company. And guess which wrestling company is owned by a multi billion corporation in 2024? The wwe. Only a short matter of time some shareholder puts their nephew or son in charge of wwe and runs it to thr ground
