I just installed today and followed your instructions along with bestop video and when I opened it I heard a pop and the tension rod broke! so DISAPPOINTED!!
No I don’t think you would do that. The Skyrider uses the hardtop as it’s resting point when opened. Plus there is one bolt connecting the hardtop to Skyrider.
@@jasonb7197 thanks brother. I saw the switches you added in the cab. Did you do a video on the install? The interior lighting is one of the things I hate the most.
@@shaneharden6579 no I didn’t kinda threw that together when I first got it. Lighting. Is horrible! But now I have the IAG light kit, highly recommend it! They turn on with the doors and can wire to an Aux if you want.
@@jasonb7197 does it come out in 1 piece or do you have to take it down in sections like putting it on? i would want the hardtop on most of the time but certain times in the summer i'd want this. seems like a pain to switch between the two.
I really wanted this to be an easy swap so I could run the hard top in the winter, but sadly is doesn't look like it is. May just get the one for the front 2 panels. Great video.
We are loving it! My hardtop was really loud. The Skyrider is better with wind noise than my hardtop was. No more whistling. It does have more road noise than the hardtop, but not too bad.
No, I had to reuse the OEM screws. Glad I found them! I have the original Rockworkx that were longer bolts. They barely fit before the skyrider, and with the extra plate under there they just didnt fit right. I understand he has a newer version with a shorter bolt and narrower thumbscrew part, that might work but Im not sure.
