@@somethingelse04 The South American tour not long ago attended by 100,000+ people within 2 weeks. If "good clear" vocal is what the fans want, then David current band wouldnt be struggling to sell 20 tickets.
I live in between Macon and West Palm, and I chose Macon on Friday. While I'm ultimately satisfied with the Macon setlist, I'd have loved to hear this one. It would have made my week.
I was front row, I just bought a untied abominations shirt for the concert 4 days before. When this came on the 9 beers forced me to immediately rip it off and hold it up when I heard this. Such a good show

The thing with Drover, yes he can keep a beat but he doesn’t perform the songs right, not even his own songs live. He rather simplifies things instead of playing the songs correctly. Shawn should be a session musician.
Instrumentally, they are as tight as ever, but Dave's voice is shot to hell. Love the guy and appreciate they are still around making new music and touring, but if DM was a much more humble person he'd hire a proper singer.
Nothing about being humble lol. Dave is the voice of Megadeth. No Mustaine no Megadeth. As simple as that. Dave will retire before hiring another singer, rightfully so
@somethingelse04 I can't disagree with you, but his voice has always been Megadeth's weak point in regards to live shows. Fine in the studio, but very amateur live. He started trying to sing properly on 1990's RIP album and succeeded, but his live voice from RIP onwards was poor. Ironically, his live voice was better during the band's drug-addled days between 1986-1989; his live voice was bearable back then, unlike from 1990 onwards.
@@divinespark505 what are you talking about?? Dave vocals peaked from 94 to 99. Then from 06 to 08 had good vocals again. Now Dave has recovered a lot since the throat cancer, and he doesn't have the "mickey mouse" falsetto vocals that he had after the neck surgery in 2010.
@frankusyoung4198 his voice maybe peaked in studio from 1994-98, but not live. I haven't analysed his live vocals between this period, but I'd be surprised if they peaked then. As I said before, his best live vocals were captured (ironically) during the drug days between 1986-1989. DM's best studio vocals, imo, can be found on the album, 'Risk' ("I'll Be There" being his absolute zenith in studio, imo).
I wonder did he (consciously or subconsciously) take some influence from Raining Blood for that fast riff he does on his own before the singing comes in?

Oh dear, Dave sounds like he's struggling bad vocally with this one. Not talking melodically, but struggling to sing it at tempo and running out of breathe at points. Not all that surprising given what hes gone through. I like this version of the band though, interested to hear what they write with Teemu.
