I just wish they would hurry up and come out with the center pole for the 42 series, every time I ask, they say oh another six months another six months. I really don’t wanna have to buy 34 series just to get the center column. Oh I do a lot of head shots school portraits, sports portraits things like that where the center column is just so much easier to adjust than having to adjust the height of all three legs every time somebody of great varying stature comes my way.

I have a Panasonic Lumix G9M2 mirrorless camera. Quick question. Do I clean the sensor with the camera turned on or off? Some say on to lock the sensor others say off. Bit confused. Also do I turn the image stabilization on or off? In all the videos I have seen these questions are not addressed. Help/Advice please.

Some of us have had to scrimp and save to buy a decent camera system, only for Nikon to abandon Us to survival economics and market share. I bought into the brand BECAUSE of Nikons reputation for backward compatibility in their lenses. The more important question for me is how long will they support my existing cameras and lenses?

I bought a bunch of Ais lenses for dirt cheap and in excellent condition years ago. Now they’re going for a lot more as more people are snatching them up to use adapted.

I am disapointment to see you speaking right into an opened lensmount of the Nikon. That means you most certainly did put some drops of your breath at the sensor!

I LOVE MY FTZ ADAPTER. works great for me. Saved me a ton of money using Sony, Canon Lens on my Z bodies. HELL YES USE THE ADAPTERS. Nikon Z bodies can fit all lens.

Roll on 4 years and with 1 the newer cameras, 2 the firmware updates means something completely different. I've a D850 D700 F6 F100 and a Z6ii and a heap of the Nikon AFS and G lenses and I haven't got a problem with them adapted to the Z6ii, ok the native Z lenses are quite and fast but, not by much certainty bot to bother me.

I felt intrigued by your video so I just had to check it out. You speak your mind and that's really refreshing to see on RU-vid. I have a set of new APSC lenses but I use the FTZ adapter for old manual lenses.

I bought a Godox 680 with trigger and found them to be unreliable. I couldn’t get them to work without an hour of effort. Rotolights work easily. Plus they are RBG. I’m editing images now where I used them to color a white wall; my subjects had a ball choosing their colors. Orange on the right and pink on the left. They are in front illuminated by other lights. I also used my Rotolights to flash a night-time action shoot. My Sony a7R3 does 10 images per second and my Rotolights flash at the same rate without having to recharge a capacitor between shots. It all depends on what you’re shooting, I guess. I do agree with you about the eye watering prices of accessories. My two came with batteries and chargers, but I need modifiers.

i think the Rotolight Anova Pro 2 wold be more for indoor stuff where room is limited and for videos.... i'm actually going to pick up a used one for 400.00 and use it as an indoor / portable low light situations set up for me. nothing else. For outdoor, bright sun, i'll always se my Westcott fj400.

I don't get what you meean by Nikon lied about the FTZ adapter? I do hope they come out with a version 3 of the FTZ that has a built in motor for those who wants to adapt old F glass. Yes, F-mount lenses are noisier. No news there. They are equally noisy on a DSLR. Keep in mind that a lot of F glass was made before or just when video became a thing and Nikon DSLR are not known for being good video cameras (they use only contrast detection). Hence, noisy lenses are not an issue shooting pictures. Even now 4 yrs later after you made this video the Z glass is super expensive compared to older F glass. Many say the Z glass is better but I'd still say the F glass is just as good as it's always been so I really don't see a problem getting used F glass and use that on the Z mount. I am not made of money, that is for damn sure.

Thanks for video, noises in f mount af-s lens and speed etc are a function of the lens same as it was on dslrs- nothing to do with the Ftz as it’s a pass through adapter does not influence the behaviours
@rickvestuto

LMAO "Getting Kick Backs" What an idiot Yeah, I make soooo much money with 1600 subs....LMMAO you know that this video is 4 years old right? Did you bother to read any of the comments? Typical Gen Z'r If you can't afford new lenses then by all means don't buy them but it's a proven fact that older lenses are much slower and clunkier than the new ones.... But hey don't listen to me... Go do your research (if you're able to....LMAO) and listen to a PRO like Matt Granger here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XMIAV-exl_o.html

All the Nikon F/G & Leica appear more sharp on mirrorless. The big disappointment is those shorter than 50 mm do not perform well in the corners until 5.6 or 8, Leica or Nikon manual focus. Nikon wides manual do not do well on full frame DSLR bodies either. I bought the 40 2.0 and it is wonderful. Not perfect, but very good.

Gotta ask as a fellow Micro Four Thirds shooter using a Leofoto 364+ tripod, why the heavy artillery for the small camera that also has class leading IBIS? LeoFoto uses standard sizes for all of their leg sections, so I combined the top three sections of a 364 (36mm top section, 4 sections) with the bottom 3 sections of a 284 (28mm top section, 4 sections) to create an 8’ tripod that still closes down to 24”. I shoot over crowds and fences and walls a lot…
