Best decision to save, get passport and great decision is to not let our children to grow there. Wheras education is concerned then we all with indian education are working there..
Good decision. All the best. Everything will be alright. But I noticed you are keep on saying you are missing liberary. If i notice and Miss something in my place, i will try to build it. You try to build your own liberary on your housband name. Try to do fundraiser to build big liberary. You went through so.much.pain, considering that building a liberary is not that hard. People are building big temples left and right.😀
parents being employed/on pension not dependent is the biggest advantage to NRI who travel abroad for work. Otherwise sending them money every month with this high taxes in europe , it becomes bit difficult. All government retired parents are best
Cute couple ! Thanks for insights!! There is a high sense of giving-up in their story!! If they were frustrated about Netherland, why did they end up having citizenship - I'm lost in their story. Wanting kid to grow up in India with Indian values but foreign citizenship will leave them nowhere other than a confused state of mind! A lot of people (general observation outside this video) use the excuse of parents, culture to justify their R2Is - while in (some) cases, its the inability to live-up to one's own expectations (career growth, lifestyle, money, cars etc.). Teaching grit to kids is an important aspect no matter where one resides!
I totally Agree and support Her. One should have Guts and and brave to take such a bold decision in Life You did a right thing and you will have a wonderful life in Future in India. this will stand as a Best Example for All aspiring abroad Life. Wish you all the best!!!!
Very important to have a global will, wherever one is based.. For all those in the Gulf, the Sharia law applies and in the unfortunate case of the male spouse passing on, the wife has no access to the bank account or anything, even if the accounts are joint. So a will made in the Gulf country that they are living in is very important, it will give her access to their accounts.
Thank you for sharing your story Sahithi. My husband passed away recently too and I’m so glad I came across your video. I’m in a similar position with two kids on H4 and I am looking forward to moving back to India with my kids. I’m also navigating this, would love to connect if you are able. Much love to you and your family. ❤
I am really sorry for your loss. Glad this video is helpful which is the main intent of Sahiti to give back. Please send a note to info @ desireturn .com so we can connect you with her.
Sorry to hear. You fell victim to the universal scam. Stat is, 85% people who get admitted into the hospitals system end up dead. Third higest cause of death is officially medical mistakes. In India the service is very very good but you should go to hospitals only for injuries. The doctors are nice in India but they are educted by the scammers to scam people, the scammers run the medical school system too. Only about 10% of doctors become aware that they are part of a system for scamming. To live a long life and avoid being scammed again as you age, read the book "The China Study" or watch the movie "Forks over Knives". You mentioned "belief" in science. Science simply means knowledge or what is known, where as belief means unknown. Hospitals are like magicians who use some science to trick/scam. People turn food into drugs and consume it daily, body produces symptoms and then hospitals again give more drugs to numb the pain. Pain is to warn us like an fire alarm, hospitals turn of the alarm, do nothing about the cause and then the organ will fail and this leads to surgery and early death. Human life is 130 years. I became aware of the scam 5 years ago after having 2 early deaths in my family. I quit eating the traditional way and cancelled my health insurance. I eat "real" food now. Diabetes is gone, high bp gone. One of my friend did the same quitting and his stage 3b kidney got cured. The only problem I face now is dental problems because of my past misdeeds(turning food into drug in the kitchen and consuming). For the lingering dental problems I get them done in India for 1/20th of the cost in usa. So read the book and stop consuming drugs instead know what is "real" food and have a happy life. p.s. Humans feed pets too the druge they cook in the kitchen and thus pet insurance is a booming business now.
Now she learned the corrupt American health system and corrupt hospital process. Always get second opinion. Even Indian doctors and hospital in India are assholes too.
well magicians also use science but to trick people. Same is with hospitals, they use science to scam people. Watch "Forks over Knives" and/or read "The China Study".
Yes, context and reasons to our recommendation is covered in the video. Please note each individual circumstance is different and so its better to know the specifics for them to make a right decision based on the information than general recommendations. If one is already familiar with those concepts, they can utilize the chapters of the video to skip to specific section. Thanks
What is this 30% such big deal? Every country has some standard deduction amount, which will be non taxed amount. How that make such big decisions to not come back
Just google the netherland tax slabs, they have tax for all income earners. Hence for expats 30% exempt was a big difference. Also I dont think both of them returned to India because of this rule, it is combination of factors not just 30% rule . I guess they mainly returned because it is difficult to look after kids without help/support abroad. I can relate to this couple.
Thank you for sharing this . The last part is the main reason that I have been thinking for few months now, its about our own life too and not just kids life. Ankita mentioned in last few minutes of the video that they made sure to secure finances for their son. I would love to hear how & where they achieved it.(Netherlands/India)
Taking cae of health is a problem in USA. If you do not have Medical Insurance it is disaster. Nedical Insurance companies do not cover all diseaes. I cam into USA after my wifes death to stay with my son who had also lost his wife. Till now he has changed so many Insurance companies. When I first came into USA in 1989 I liked the place. But ater many years I realised withour Proper Insurance it is difficult to live in USA. Hospitals are costly. If anyone wants to come into USA to live first thing heshould know how heaslth Insurance works.
Bit over simplification of the decision-making process. All about spending time in traffic/unprofessional services vs. spending time with chores/mundane things. Former goes back, and the latter stays.
Its all about convenience and feel good factor you get in India vs health benefits abroad. There are multiple factors example Getting stuck in traffic in an ola/uber can still be productive :) as you can read books to enhance career than the later where you cant read while you are washing dishes or cooking and if you listen or see tv then a 20 min job will become 1 hour job :). One will only know this when you do it for years and years after you are out of the honeymoon period (say 5 years) that its such a boring stuff and at the end you are not progressing in life and sacrificing plus taking risks by doing mundane work thinking this place is better for kids but infact you are getting trapped into a cycle that can be broken by wise choice,
@@australiatruelyasia6825 Getting into risk by doing mundane things? But being productive staying in a cab. Very different approach and though process towards life. No wonder the multitasking in cabs leads to exertion and motion sickness . Add pollution purified air to that if the driver agrees.
None with common sense would hesitate to use the opportunity to settle down in a civilised democratic and developed western country where people have good work life balance, better rights etc. The only downside in west is their HORRIBLE public health system. Anyway, I don't understand why someone woud have a problem with communicating in his mother tongue in India provided his/her parent taught it at home while living abroad and conversed at home in their mother tongue. PIO parents do no good to their children by speaking in English at home in English speaking countries. The only good that they would do their kids to improve their English skill in not speak to them in English and let them learn it from the native speakers at school.
The major mistake her husband did was leave emergency and come back home. Once u r in emergency never leave it u til the care is complete. This is no-1 rule of US. Emergency has the best doctors and best care available… After Covid it’s difficult to get the appointment so when u are in pain distress ask if some other location in your network can take you in. It almost works all the time. Never just stick with 1 doctor 1 hospita. Be open to see various physicians in your network even if u have to drive. Bad luck can strike to anyone … but these are the pointers you should follow if u r using medical care in US
Everything was fine, until she mentioned citizenship and OCI. What hypocrites! They say they dont want their kids to get into Dutch school and culture. But they are okay with changing their passport to Dutch? So unka culture nahi chahiye, but passport chahiye?
Getting a passport gives them a good opportunity to work not only in Netherlands but also throughout Europe/World easily as Netherlands rank quite high as passport strength is concerned. Getting back indian citizenship is possible after 5years
It’s their decision if you are in a country for so many years and you are getting citizenship it makes sense to Take it later on they can decline it too
There is nothing hypocritical. They paid so much taxes and insurance in Netherland for so many years. Why not take advantage of that? The very fact that they are working, living and contributing in India is enough.
Most the of people who went to Europe/Australia/Canada just about 10 years ago have a European/Australian/Canadian passport. If u analyze, most interviews from people who lives in these countries have an Indian OCI. On the other hand, those who went to USA and there for 15 years don't even have a green card. Now coming to the point you make. Indians cannot integrate even within India, for e.g. in my city in chennai, we have an area filled with Gujarathi and Marwadi, none of these folks integrate into Tamil culture, they just live like how they would have lived in Rajasthan or Gujarat. But for most of their businesses their customers are Tamil people. There are now millions of Indians with european passports, but they live an unintegrated and disconnected life. Inside their house then have one culture outside the door is a different culture. I bet these two can't even speak a single word of Dutch but they are having a passport.
Such a postive video!!!...Work life balance part was like exactly describing my life in germany! I dont understand this great work life balance comment about EU.. i feel am working always..either at home or work or kids..we never got a chance to sip a coffee in peace...totally like wat she described.. But curious to ask the couple- has this improved once in india? I sometimes domt understand if we life is so hectic because of kids or because of living here ...does it get better when u are in india?
Indeed life changes drastically after kids, but in our case we are finding it better here with help available around that we are able to take out enough time for ourselves.Very grateful for that! As far as work is considered, if you get into good product based company here then it's a big advantage. Plan it wisely wherever /if you plan 🙂
