I am 73, and grew up in the SF area right in the middle of the best of times and the best of music. I am sure every generation says their music is the best, but seriously we did have the best, most heartfelt, creative expression of music. It was an explosion of a new world coming from the ozzie and harriett mentality of our parents and their blind belief the government could be trusted. Many of my younger friends always say I am stuck in the 60's, and they are right. I always tell them NOTHING has come along since then to replace those days. peace, love and fuck the man.
I saw this movie the day it came out..in Austin. On Congress BLVD. have watched it many times since. A brilliant movie. And a time that changed our world.

I was in the navy, in Boston in Aug '69. Couldn't go to Woodstock. A month later we left Boston, took the ship through Panama canal. Landed in San Francisco in October. I heard about the concert at Altamont. Man I'm not missing this one!! OOPS! Bad vibe. The end of innocence! But still glad I went.
500,000 people for days in the rain and no fights, protests, crime, gang bangers, etc. Everyone was thin and in good shape because they didn’t eat super-sized McDonald’s every meal. They weren’t staring at phones, they talked to each other and they weren’t zombies on tranq. Young people have no idea what our country was back then, they think what is going on now is normal. Young girls didn’t have six babies with six “baby daddies” starting at 13 and plan to live on public assistance forever. There was welfare, but no where even close to what there is now. People could afford to buy homes and cars with mom staying home because dad made a living wage and people took pride in work. We need to get our country back!

So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ?
