How do you connect the transmitter to the mixer? Does it come with the xlr cable from the transmitter to the mixer? Is there a specific model for that? Thanks!
Based on the setup from this video, you would run a 1/4” male out of your Aux or Main Outputs from your mixer to a 1/8” male cable into your body pack transmitter. My new setup is different kit.co/djmojoe/wireless-sound-kit-2-0-2021 I now run a 1/4” out male cable out of my mixer with a XLR male cable into my PSM900 transmitter. Then use a 1/8” male cable from the receiver bodypack (Shure P9RA) into an XLR male to the back of my speaker
Good idea to create a vibe. I think the key here for most DJs would be to charge properly then they would feel ok to do this. Otherwise they feel like it’s to much extra work for “free”

Love this take Mojoe! When I first started djing weddings I used to mix cocktail hour and I was so disheartened by how little people were paying attention. People want to talk during cocktail hour so the volume is lower and it's really more about just setting the vibe musically. I thought it was a better use of my energy to be managing the other parts of the wedding day. Maybe having my assistant dj the cocktail hour could be a nice move.
Thanks for your comment! Yea, def the vibe where people can hang out and mingle. I still DJ the cocktail hour, but just be mindful of the volume. I noticed that people who like the music hang out near me and vibe to it. People who don't move to have their conversation elsewhere. And yes, managing the other parts of the wedding day can be challenging if you don't have an assistant. That's why I arrive extra early so once the wedding starts, everything is working and will go smoothly. Having your assistant DJ can be a nice touch, too
Great content Joe however I think you have to have the right crowd for something like djn cocktail hour, we have tried this before, and we have been faced with a “can you please lower it we are trying to talk and socialize”
..dope suggestion. Be dope to see how you do the 2 external hardrive. Be a good video for backup and running 2 external in case can only plug in external to someone else laptop etc
Thanks for the comment! I may do that in a future video. But essentially, I work and update my main hard drive with new music, crates, etc. Then I format my backup hard drive so it’s empty, then copy everything from my main to my backup. All I have to do is just plug it into a MacBook, open up Serato, and my music, crates, organization, etc. shows up. Perfect in case your main hard drive fails, just plug in your backup and it works just as fine. One time I had a problem with my main laptop, I bought a new laptop, installed Serato, plugged my hard drive, and I’m up and running
I would love to DJ cocktail hour bc the music is so vibey and fun, but I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze. Packing an extra booth, controller, mixer, laptop, and and making sure to sync my laptops.... damn. But props to you for prioritizing it.
yea, it takes more effort and consideration from the DJ for sure. Music is mainly a priority for my clients and their guests so they appreciate it when they hear me mix music during cocktail.
No I haven’t heard it. Although specs are similar, you definitely need to hear them in person to determine which sounds better. But yes, the Meyers are expensive haha
DJMoejoe! AWESOME giglog! You are the DJ BARR & RICK WEB on the west coast lol! Have you heard the FBT VENTIS 206A? If so, how would that compare to your Meyers ? Specs seem close without the car payment price.

dv12 sounds more balanced..tamed highs...can here the low end come though...meyer def louder and clear...a little harsh...depends on application...stand alone or pairing w subs...and your overall taste

Hi Kevin! I forget which setting I use. I’ll check it the next time I use it. Try testing around with it and see which you like best. You may need to adjust settings on your mixer to get the best sound output
They’re still great tops! After hearing the X40s, I prefer the X40s sound more. The BassBoss subs are still the cleanest and deepest subs I’ve heard at a really good price point. I’m still keeping my BassBoss subs 🙌
Just sold my DV12’s. Looking at the X40 or X20 to replace them. Have you had a chance to hear the X20’s? The weight is very enticing but I’m not sure how far backwards I’ll be going coming from DV12’s?
I have heard of them, just not listened to them. I have the X40s now. I say better to have the headroom than not. Find a local Meyer distributor in your area and maybe you can rent them for one of your events to try the X20s out

Always good seeing your videos... I have to ask, do you still use the RCF J8's or prefer the RCF EVOX 12's in this video? Does it have that much more power? Thinking of purchasing the RCF 12's after seeing your review and just want your opinion. Thanks MOJOE!
I prefer the EVOX 12s because you have even more headroom and sound to cover bigger events. You can always dial it down if you need to. And the EVOX 12s are still lightweight and has wheels for easier transport
You may have the DMX address correct, but your channel setup may not be matching. Check and set the channel on your fixtures and make sure you match the channel in your SoundSwitch software.
They sound so clean and accurate at reproducing the original sound. You hear everything. They can get loud without compromising on quality. Personally, if you can afford the x40s, yes. Just pair them with subwoofers (Meyers or BassBoss subs which I love) and you’ll get amazing clean sound throughout the whole spectrum
Great video - just purchased a Bose T8S as a musician who gigs at private events. Also own a Yamaha mixer which as you say is a great little mixer, great quality sound but somewhat limited. I bought it mainly to interface with a set of Bose F1 speakers I've also just purchased second-hand, so can't wait to hget it all together and see the up lift in quality of my output
I use the Tonematch1 for my F1 812 with Sub... and I have been afraid to try it since. I turned it up 10% and it shook Pots and pans in the kitchen and everything on the walls, including the doors throughout the house! As long as you run everything to the sub and THEN run the sub into the top. LETHALITY!
