Screenwriting doesnt change. Every writer is aware of the tech aspects every story has. The only things that change from story to story are the specifics regarding location, character and concept.

Ok so now youre comparing a drama, shawshank redemption, with horror. Not at all the same. If you develop characters that much in a horror, it won't be a horror.

I see, so being trapped in a space ship with an alien creature is something everyone can relate to. I see.

Sopranos all the way. In terms of changing tv there was also “Oz” and that Ribert Wuhl Show ( not so much).

6:08 I think its believable at end of climax of dark knight as in ship with criminal also have police, ship captain and crew and engineer s and workers.. As it was labelled as ship with criminals, we forget about other characters in that ship.. So they cant just blow up..😁

I don’t believe at this time there are only 3 likes shown. Anyway, you did a great job and a very good interview. To be honest, I never really got John Leguizamo. I’ve been around awhile and Leguizamo has been a principal actor in a lot of shows and I wouldn’t call him a character actor, because I’ve known his name for most of his career. I tried to watch his stand-up, but I didn’t get that either. I’m sure John Leguizamo doesn’t need my approval, but I’ve always respected the fact that he looks like a hardworking actor. He looks like a professional that shows up on time, knows his lines and easy to work with and that’s a good reputation to have in Hollywood. I’m not throwing shade his way. I’m just keeping it real. In my opinion, he seems like a decent human being and a professional in his craft.

when alex says he learns about all the crimes steps from movies, it remind me of Malayalam movie Drishyam 2013 where hero who loves movies plan his crime schemes from movies he watched..

Anyone who pays money to go to film school is wasting their time. Get a degree and career that pays you everyday and write on weekends and evenings. It’s a crapshoot. Very few people are successful. It’s gig to gig. Don’t quit your day job to write. Ever.

Had the great career opportunity of working for Mr. C when he fired up his distribution co. New World in the70's.On the spectrum, we had something for everybody:"Cries and Whispers" to "Candy stripe Nurses". Mr. C was also a senator in Cupola's "Godfather-2". We will fix it in post. Next setup !

I first met Suzanne in the Alameda Writer's Group back in the 90's, which met monthly at NBC Studios Burbank, and then as a student of her "Fast Forward Institute" (which predated the The Flash Forward Institute") Always energetic and enthusiastic, it wasn't possible to be around her and NOT fall under the spell of her unlimited energy. No longer in Southern California, many of us still miss her and her seminars and classes (most held at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel).

What I find strange is that originally Alex was a big supporter of Distribber till they went down. He used to have Jason from Distribber on his show all the time. He then started back tracking after they went bankrupt. He also talks as if he knows about distributing when he has only made 2 features, the most expensive cost $3k. To me that does not make an expert whatever has says or thinks. Filmmakers beware of Wolves in sheep's clothing.

Great advice. Skip the LOI, get the investor to put equity in your escrow account on contingency that you get one actor from a list of 5 within 6 months.
