@Flippencz I have messed around with it a bit but can't say 100% it's the best this way, but the little I did mess around with, I was getting the least cavitation and better speeds. My kayak is pretty fully equipped and I'm getting 8kmh on 100% so 5mph. I rarely ever run 100% though, usually 80% and I'm getting 6.5kmh
@@Flippencz no problems, but I definitely suggest starting with the lowest to second lowest and go from there. I tried the higher options and tons of cavitation and low speed.
I enjoyed your video on this load assist system. I bought this load assist system at a garage sale. Although it was never used, the round bars are 58” long not 66”. I have a 2023 Kia Sportage like yours. Do you think this system will work on my Sportage? John
@JohnGoetze-fl5qp I think it would, definitely doesn't hurt to try! The only issue I could see is you'd have to move your front bar back kind of a lot to have the wing on the back work as it should. But if it works then it works!
@JohnGoetze-fl5qp my pleasure! My videos are all for helping people with things I've done or things I use. Have you had a chance to measure and see if it will fit? Hopefully it does because it's a great system. I didn't measure mine but looking at it the other day I believe I could move the cross bars back more and the 58 probably would work
I tried to install the Showboat system on my Kia Sportage. I can’t safely move the cross bars back enough to accommodate the 58” bars. This prevents the roller from extending back to allow me to place a kayak on it without hitting the roof of the SUV. I’m going to try to sell this system. Thanks again….John

Hey bro nice run through! I noticed you have the seat pretty far foward, im short at 5”5 and was wondering if i was to short for this yak as naverre has said in his review it goes of balance and the front dips well on the 106?
@LifewithLewi I'm 5'8" and can use either the 3rd or 2nd setting from the front. The first setting is way to close. I usually use the 2nd setting if I'm pedaling a bit and if I'm pedaling a lot I will use the 3rd setting to get a more full extension on my legs. This is a 120 so I can't say for the 106 dipping forward if you use the front setting but on my 120 it wouldn't dip on the front setting.

@jayweitekamp have hit a lot of rocks with it and nothing happens. It's still on a bungee so it allows a little movement. Maybe if I was going full speed and hit a rock something more might happen but honestly I've been using the rudder a lot and banging it all over the place and everything is fine. @@silentjoutdoors I tried the boonedox one last year and, after the struggles running the cord through and saw how flimsy the spool that attaches to the cord inside the kayak is l realized it was to heavy so l switched back to the old one which l did modify with adding some kydex to make it wider and just doing that helped a lot.
@kevinkornman ya that probably would have helped! But this one so far has been great. Not much extra weight and the handling has been the best I've ever had from my kayak
@saltyguerrilla I used Navarres rudder for 1 year and upgraded for this one. It's not even close to how much better this one is... Maybe that's not what you wanted to hear since you just bought it, but it's the honest truth. Steering always sucked with my rudder and NK but now it's actually really good. Going slow or fast.
I am considering the NK for my 120 PDL. One question I have for you is about transportation. Does the NK easily come off to allow for highway travel or do you just let it hang off the back the entire time?
@toddlester8063 Hey Todd, thanks for checking my video. The NK is super easy to remove and attach. Takes about 30 seconds..You leave the aluminum mount on basically permanently and the motor part attaches to the mount. Hey, thanks for checking the video. I honestly love my NK180, I recently just switched to the NK180Pro, and now Newport changed to selling the NK180Pro, and it's amazing. I'm using a 50ah battery and it's impossible to kill in a day of fishing, yesterday I was on the water from 7am until 8pm and still had 55% battery left and I used it all day. Gets my PDL moving 8km/h so 5mph at 100% throttle, but I cruise on 80% and get 4mph. The motor is easy to install, simple to use and a real game changer for having the ability to effortlessly shoot across the lake to check out new spots I never could have gotten to without a motor. Not sure if you own a roof cargo box but I’m wondering I can leave the showboat on my racks and use a roof box on top of it. I have a canoe for fishing but I use a roof box for camping trips
That's a good question, you'd have to see how wide the box is, if it fits between the bars of the yakima then you could totally leave it up there, or if the racks sides are high enough to clear the bars of the yakima then it would work. If you tell me the width of the box I can measure the space between the rack and quickly tell you possibly or definitely not haha
I am using a Renogy Lithium 24 volt 50 AH battery. I also use their charger to charge it. Have had zero issues for a season and a half so far and the battery is very competitively priced at around $600 USD most of the time. I highly recommend this battery for people wanting a good quality battery for a reasonable price. I had an issue with a broken part on my charger, the company sent me another charger free of charge no questions asked also. So that's a customer service win
I used a cheap Ram version from Amazon. It's a Ram B 111U knock off. Here's the link if it helps you. I had to cut it off a bit so the base wasn't hanging out passed the throttle so it's clean looking but you don't technically need to cut it. Hey so that was my fault. It's due to the fact that I used a piece of plastic that was cut from the back of my kayak, where the plastic is more black. It was the only piece I had. If I would have had a piece from the more orange part it would have came out orange. But in the end it's repaired as new, if I was bothered by the black I would slap some stickers over it ahaha
