I knew after Jak II this would happen. But MAN you guys are SOARING through progress I'm SO EXCITED to get this eventually. Jak 3 was my favorite title. Ofc I want to play it the definitive way!
This is one of the most incredible projects I've seen. I played through Jak 2 before you guys had it officially on the launcher. I'm on slightly older hardware (too cheap to upgrade and new games don't interest me) and played with 1920x1080 resolution. Experiencing the game like this was great - very little was rough around the edges like most games are when at a higher resolution. I didn't get a chance to fill out the merch survey, but I'll totally buy some just to advertise this project to some of my younger coworkers.
The system is overall very similar to Jak 2's, but because of the way it works, each texture animation effect has to be manually added in order for it to show up. And aside from a handful that were unchanged (e.g. Skull Gems), Jak 3 also uses completely different texture animations (and way more of them).
im glad people like you exist. you reinvigorate old and possibly make new branches of communties. and its all from an engine designed to run jak and daxter. seriously the work you and everyone done is awesooomes!
I explained in more detail in another comment but basically, I created a water volume that spans all the way to Geyser, used load triggers to load in Geyser and overwrote the behaviour of the shark so he can take damage.
