Great video...There’s actually two issues here at play ..and that is that the 2 little triangle locks on the actual drone itself that clicks into the battery’s compartment catchments ...well ..it is a very fine triangle point that locks it in ...and very pointy if you don’t properly push the side battery tabs in when you doing it and rely on it just ”clicking in” like you were showing ...that clicking “in” but more importantly “clicking out” ... will eventually slowly wear that point away. ...so when removing the battery if you don’t push those battery release tabs deeper / harder that point will catch each time ... and you will eventually round it off ... and ..over time the drone’s pointy part and battery will just keep clicking out or not locking in properly. I’ve always maintained my push to insert and release the battery as I said in a deep harder press ... clearance on that point ... so when I click it in and then when I’m in moving it out ...i have to make sure I don’t have any friction movement coming off that point when you’re removing the battery... doing this regularly and correctly will maintain that pointy contact and that catchment area ...”like perfect like new”. My Spark drone is three years old never ever had an issue...locking in and out ... I hope that helps others ;) 👍 cheers Andrew Penman ⚔️
Nice video! Did you register your drone as you are touristing? We want to bring our drone to USA (from Denmark) next year and don't want to get into trouble with it. Really nice shots and editing! Regards!
I KNOW OF THIS PROBLEM BEFORE PURCHASING MY SPARK, THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE SMALL BLACK TRIANGLES THAT KEEP THE BATTERY AT PRESSURE WORN, ONE DAY BEFORE FLYING I COMMANDED BATTERY SIGNAL ERROR I COULD NOT TAKE OFF, USE TWO ELASTIC LINKS TO MAINTAIN THE BATTERY
Sorry but that’s just common sense. I always ensure the battery is securely clicked into place on all my drones. I also clean the mating surfaces each time I charge the battery.
Whomever disliked this video must not own a Spark..is can you dislike this video? I have been watching video after video and this is the first time I have EVER heard or seen this battery issue. THANKS!!!
I heard that the newer batteries don't have this issue... "newer" meaning manufactured less than 6-months ago, I think. Not sure of the exact date... but this is a good video to show how to check.
Same happened to me! Bought the spark and I flew over water. The battery dropped out and it fell, that was under 24 hours after I bought it! I sent a mail to DJI and gave them the flight info from the app, and got a new one :) Their costumer service is known to be really bad, and I agree, but this time they were really nice to me.
I watched 100 reviews before I bought my spark. I didn't see any mention of the battery falling out. The other day I flew my spark and lost transmission. I look for my spark and find the battery first. Wtf, then the spark, luckily with no damage to either....did the same checks and got the same results
Thanks for sharing. Exactly same thing happened to my today. Luckily over field so spark survived but dropped from 30m. I though I was an idiot despite knowing i did all as usual.. now with your test.. i have faulty batt. Really thanks.
