Hey Wazy, I feel kind of stupid but I'm not entirely sure if the first half of the showcased part is finished or not, if not I do have a few recommendations and those would be adding a variant of the flash that the mini portal creates (6:28) every time the bass (I think??) plays, just to show the few segments of gameplay that otherwise seem blind, not sure if that's because of video compression though. If you do decide to do something similar, probably make it a background pulse of a distinctly dark grey tone so it still blends with the rest of the environment there? I quite like the grey square particles flying around and thought maybe some of them being different shapes, as well as having some sort of veiny structure appear visible - like roots or vines - and run though the blocks in that area upon a flash happening - like I mentioned earlier - just to add to the barren part you have to work with. Hopefully these few ideas help add to the first half of the pre-drop a little, but for the second half I think it looks quite good already, if you completely run out of ideas maybe look to the orbs and portals a little more, though I can't say much for them myself. That aside I think everything looks really good so far! It may be a bit opinionated but I like this style of video a lot (it actually grabs my attention and doesn't need subway surfers gameplay) so I'm glad to see you doing this a bit now. Sorry I'm three weeks late so this comment may be useless but lets pray not!
great level! the song choice is awesome and overall it shows a ton of creativity. it feels like it gives off the same kind of “energy” and charm as a krmal level and i absolutely love it. the gameplay definitely shows that it was inspired by krmal and crohn44 (i can also acknowledge that the deco also looks pretty inspired by krmal, but i genuinely feel like (at least from watching it) that in another timeline krmal made the gameplay for this level with only the wave part towards the end being changed a bit) but their really good levels like lit fuse, falling up, black blizzard, low death, glide, sunset sandstorm. the deco also definitely takes inspiration from those creators, but manages to keep it fresh and original and interesting for the most part. i’d also like to say that i feel like it could be balanced a bit more and maybe even nerfed in a few places (tho i am just watching a video so these buffs/nerfs might not work). specifically the mini cube in the first part, the ufos and the cubes in the second part, 1:59 and 2:11, and the 2:16 robot part could probably be nerfed a little due to how far it is in the level. overall thoughts: amazing level. the deco feels like it’s alive, the gameplay is very unique, and basing it off of krmal’s levels, probably really fun. the song choice is awesome, we seriously need more hip hop and jpop being used in gd. i’m really upset that at most it’s probably gonna just get a rate because of the nong song, since i personally believe (unless the gameplay is absolute shit) that it’s definitely feature worthy. for your first solo extreme, you cooked.
ain’t reading allat: you did an amazing job with this. it captures the essence of a krmal level while maintaining a shit ton of originality. could definitely use some tweaks and balances, but other than that it looks really solid. good job gearface, i hope you get more recognition for this
