In the mountains of New England, United States, building our dream Barn House in the woods while camper living. Videos of land clearing, working with equipment, sawmill work, random outdoor adventures, and of course, our barn house build. Follow our journey as I build. - Dave
Hi , your channel is amazing; I've never seen this type of construction work before. We would like to show part of your videos in some video/s report about your channel. We will add your link, your name, and your work will be mentioned in the video.
Hello, I’m new to the channel and I’m really enjoying your videos!! Please continue with them - I know the camera is extra work, but I could watch them for hours. Watching from central Texas!
Using the fasteners that are called out in the kit plans. They are all spiral or ring shank. I am not concerned because the times I had to pull a few out for corrections, I barely could remove as they hold so well. I do agree with you on screws tho, good structural screws are great. The sip's that shell the frame have large timber screws holding them on which also tie the frame together as well!
Yes, even though the L2501 has the smallest motor in its chassis group, the hp does not effect the hydraulic power of the attachment. If it is the bh77 backhoe attachment being used, it will perform the same as on the other hp model tractors in its group. The hp matters for the pto attachments and probably in some other scenarios. With the smaller trenching bucket, it digs pretty well for me. Sometimes it reaches its power limit as you can see in the video, but if you try moving a different way, it will usually pull through, or just try grabbing less material. - Dave
@@KUBBI7488 Exactly! Anytime the backhoe can't move, it's the hydraulic relief valve that is controlling the power so that nothing on the machine gets damaged. Hopefully. I love my setup. Going on 3 years now 600+ hours on the tractor
@@ourberkshirebuild wow! Mine l2501 on 88 th hour only! I really want backhoe to add ! Not sure will be powerful enough or get bigger hp tractor for backhoe
@@KUBBI7488 I guess it all depends on what you plan to do with it and the materials where you are. Sand, rock, clay, etc. Hopefully the video helped show you what it can do
I haven't had any issues with that here. It's a really small town, and the highway super knows us too. I live on a very small gravel road and I actually help clear that small pull off that's across from me so that oncoming cars can pass easier. The plows don't clear that either. I just make sure that I don't scrape up any of the gravel from the road and that's it!
Ya probably around 8in by the time I started filming. Had about 12in at night and then from the sun and whatnot it really compacted down quickly. The tractor was staying on top pretty well too surprisingly since the front tires I have are decently skinny
You're welcome @M TW. It's doable, but definitely depends on the situation as well. Will you have help? How much time can you commit? Can you install the utility in sections and not a straight 700-800' run? Will the sand start to cave into the trench? If so, if needed to slope trench walls will take much longer. Hopefully that will help make a decision for you! I'll be posting up the backfill video soon too! - Dave
