You could have just cleaned the hole with a toothbrush and put a few drops of superglue on it. Superglue will harden when wet and the repair would have been much less conspicuous
Wow you discovered something most people who didn't grow up in a third world country knew how to do 100 years ago if not more. I've been using a similar process since I was a child and I'm over 60 now.
Thank you for your input, brother, in my opinion it is more like the model I made, because if you use the model I made, even if there is dirt it doesn't clog, just pour lots of water on it and open the pipe yourself, it's simpler in my opinion.😁😁
I have watched a few of your videos in the last couple days. Some were very informative and clever, one was functional, just not very attractive. I have a simple question. The clay you used (I think it was a tv remote or something similar) is what I’d like to know about. Also, some type of plastic to keep the edge line. The CA glue didn’t adhere to this. What is the material. CA glue seems to stick to everything. Thx. 😊
thanks for the map, in my opinion. There are several methods to make it stick to all areas, first you have to clean the media that will be applied with CA glue from oil and sand the media, until it is a bit rough when held... if you feel it is clean then apply CA glue. secondly, you can use plastic materials... you can use used materials that have the same characteristics as the material you want to repair... because the characteristics of plastic are not all the same... if you can, you can apply the plastic welding model using solder. electricity... that's my explanation. I hope it can help. If there's something missing, I'm sorry, cheers up😁
Why not just reverse the springs? It looked like that would’ve worked. Maybe the wood was a bit too wide, but it looks as though cutting it was easier than doing the work of forming the plastic pvc. Your end result functions, but it doesn’t look like anything I’d want to look at. 😂
A nice fix, but now the repaired part is stronger than the original. Also, the ‘staple’ you formed, it might’ve been fully shaped before you embedded it, because if it broke away from the plastic while bending the last two legs, the whole thing would be deformed beyond repair. This is a good alternative to the super glue and baking soda repairs. I have lots of CA glue, but not a soldering iron with a larger blade. Cool enough. I have a repair that this might be perfect for.
