When i was 18y.o. i went there with a friend in search of antimony ore, and we found some crystals for our mineralogical collections. Good old times.

Nice video, but you didn’t tell anything about the history of Neutral-Moresnet even though it‘s important in this context.

My father, Max Jean Reichard, was the mining engineer for Sv. Barbara between World War I and WWII. The photo is of him with his miners at the entrance of Sv. Barbara, perhaps 1930.

I love this! Had to find more information on mining at Masua as I wanted to know what they were mining. Fascinating: “The rocky south-west coast of Sardinia combines natural beauty and impressive industrial heritage. The Miniera di Masua and Porto Flavia are within the Geological Mining Park of Sardinia. Mining at Masua dates to the seventeenth century. It expanded with the Montesanto company in 1863, producing lead and zinc with 700 workers. In 1922 it was taken over by the Belgian company Sociétè de la Vieille Montagne, which invested in a major project for loading ore into ships. The engineer Cesare Vecelli designed a pair of tunnels 600 metres long through the cliffs to where ships could wait safely. The top tunnel took ore by electric railway to nine silos 18 metres deep, which stored 10,000 tons ready for loading ships. A conveyer in the bottom tunnel carried it from the silos out over the waiting ships. Vecelli named the port for his daughter Flavia. Visitors to the tunnels go by pre-booked guided tours, which take them through the tunnels to a tall archway and a tower built into the cliff. The mining village and a museum of mining machinery can be seen at Masua.”

Proprio stamattina 6 maggio 2.021 ero là col mio cane.

Old world architecture is so beautiful and lost from modern standards 😔

Considering some structures are 100 years old, I think something built in the 1920s isn't really old world. But yeah I get you though
