the next sigma camera moving forward i would like to have a faster autofocus, a IBIS for stable shots and video and also a stacked sensor for faster read out......nice work....👍
AF isn’t that important to me really, but… I’d like to have confidence in buying AF lenses and not deem it a probably pointless investment. Right now, I’m mostly vintage and manual and cine lenses. I’d like to see some more innovative MF assist tools. Of course better ibis, better this and that. I love my XH2S, don’t see myself buying a new camera for the next ten years 😂 I’m a hobby guy any way.
I totally understand bro. My X-H2S is my camera I reach to for paid gigs. I love it. To me, the only real con is their autofocus but it’s not enough to make me want to sell my gear. Even my sigma FP won’t make me sell my camera.
I agree 100%. I know AF isn’t that important to me but I understand why it’s an important feature for most people. Hopefully Fujifilm will get it right soon.
Thanks for the ACES tip! And interesting ideas you got. As a documentarist, the internal NDs would be huge thing. And what comes to raw, internal prores raw would be good enough to begin with, but ofcourse it would be great to have total Fuji pipeline for color handling. Good work man👍
Any Clickbait title as "Am I Leaving *insert any camera brand" is immediately answered with a NO 🤡 like, let's stop this bad trend of asking questions in the title that YOU already know the answer to 👎👎
Poor you... You think that 1 or 2 extra stops of dynamic range will make you a better filmmaker? That is cute. Most of if not all high end pro-sumer cinema cameras top at 12-12 and a half usable stops and many cheat the test by using heavy internal noise reduction. Don't worry, you'll eventually learn how to correctly expose and use light and shadow as tools to tell a story without the need to obsess over specs.
@@kipkipfulI understand that but you do have some creators still creating beautiful content with this camera regardless of its limitations. If dynamic range is a priority for you than this camera definitely won’t fit your needs.
The FP have the same usable dynamic range that any major camera, similar to any major brand but with a RAW output, that means that theres's no image processing. People get confused with massive amounts of noise reduction in some "14 stops of dynamic range cameras" that is not usable at all, it's amazing what can you recover on what it looks like a blown out highlights, open resolve, transform to BM colorspace click recovery highlights and enjoy. The 1080p to a SD card it's also really good, but the 12 bits 4k it's just outstanding. Just try it for yourself..... Also has the El Zone mode wich is 200 times better than false color and you can nail your exposure acuretly any single time, wich is far more important than your camera having 13 or 14 stops of fake dynamic range.
great looking video Myron 🙂 like that you mentioned the Canon lens - I'm about to test out a 50mm f1.8 FD lens (the one with the silver lockring - nice) on my X-H2
Thanks for this video and just subscribed! I started off using "Eterna" with my X-T4, but I've been using "Classic Chrome" for my last 5 RU-vid short films and loving it. However, after seeing this video and getting a much better overall understanding about colour grading, I might give Eterna another try for my next short film because your edit looks stunning!
I sure regretted it by the time 6.0 came along. Great camera with abysmal continuous AF, which I needed. Otherwise loved everything about it, but i should have just kept my X-H1.
Honestly bro, as of now wide tracking is definitely not useable so I only use AF area. I get much better results. The most important moments like vows and speeches, I manual focus
mate ! Could I get a comparaison footage in dark /bright / contrasty and normal environement between the in-cam codec and the Braw ? I'd like to buy that cam, but would love to see that first ! :D And I don't find a rental of such a little camera ^^' Thank you !
Great work, man! Looks really good. It would be helpful if you explain a bit more why you do certain changes. If i was an unexperienced user I would really struggle to understand for example why you build your contrast curve as you did.
Thank you for pointing that out to me, I will try to get better at explaining my changes more. My goal was to have a gentler contrast with a nice highlight roll off. I felt building a s-curve gave me that result.
videographer loyal to fuji. I want a proper camera with internal pre rec function, eND, XLR, V/Gold mount battery and a cine viewfinder. Put all the X-H2S inside a body with those adds, I'm happy and buy it 3k€ or 3,5k€ ! :D
@@JaymesMedia ahh and I forgot some stuff : timelapse option with flicker corrector (like sony), real dual iso to somthing like 800 / 6400, and a GYRO sensor for gyroflow (this is something needed for the X-H2S actaully. The gyro and accelero is here as sensor is stabilized)
@JaymesMedia thanks for replying. I had the xh1 and was thinking about getting the xh2s but I saw your comments about the af and then I saw other videos talking about this af issue. Has it been fixed now ? I've been out of the loop since xh1 and was planning to do weddings again and now I'm contemplating if I should go xh2s or look at sony. If you don't mind can you give me some insights

@@SuperAirman24 yes, for the most part it work fine for me but I don’t trust any autofocus system and always make sure to place my focus point where I want it. The biggest issue was with their tracking autofocus. I don’t use it and only use single point autofocus.
@@JaymesMediayou're welcome, I'm a complete noob when it comes to video editing in general, but I think colour is so important, it's great to have a guide like this
@@bloomylicious 🙏🙏🙏 you’re definitely right. The free lesson is learning to grade canon-c-log2 if you’re interested in watching. There’s no signing up or anything like that. It’s one of my favorite grades.
Hello, I’m sorry agian but I did upload the wrong file. I have uploaded the correct file now and replaced the link. Now you should be able to download the free powergrade.
I've really thought about getting this camera but I'm hearing so many negative things about Fugi autofocus that I'm now considering getting a Sony A7iv. How has the auto focus been for you - especially with the firmware updates over this past year?
Honestly autofocus been fine for me but I won’t use wide tracking until it’s fixed. I just area in continuous autofocus. Just shot a wedding this past weekend and had little to no issues
Great video! Would love to hear how you setup/ use autofocus for video with the xs20. Only just started looking into it myself and having a bit of trouble figuring out the best way to reliably film - especially busier scenes like events!
Thank you, I really appreciate it and thank you for watching. I actually don’t use autofocus that much with the x-s20. 95% of the time, I pair it with a cinema lens. Only time I use it with autofocus is if I need a really quick talking head done where I don’t have time to set up a wireless focus
@@JaymesMedia thats good to know! i ended up using manual focus quite a bit myself eventually - feels like the the only way to be 100% sure! I just need to get faster :)
Nice man ! if i have it on PF mode ,for example, at the time i shooting ,and for some seconds in between, i want to have it on L mode (lock) ,just for a few seconds ,by pressing the trigger button , after releasing it, will continue to shoot at PF mode again ?????? you know , at the same shooting , on th the fly. can i make it with triger button ??? is trigger button customizable ? You know ,at DJI gimbals , you can do that , but at weebill s that i had , when you press the trigger button , it was changing mode like forever , it wasnt coming back at the mode that it was before pressing the trigger button. You know what i mean right ? i like to have at 1 shoot a PF mode or F mode and for some seconds between to lock at something with trigger and unlock instantly and continue same shoot like PF or F or whatever.
I do know what you mean. If I remember right, the trigger button is customizable. I myself need to dive into it more because I never use the customizable features on any of my gimbals.
Raw video doesn’t work like that, Raw video captures all of the information that the cameras provide. It’s like capturing a raw photo. It’ll capture all of the dynamics range without compromise but give you more bit depth 12-Bit, more control of your image in the camera raw tab. While a log profile is really good to have, it’s more like a very high quality jpeg.
@@JaymesMedia Hi, Thanks for the explanation. Actually I want to get this or the A6700. But could not find out which can give me more room for highlight and shadow recovery like I do during processing a raw photo. People are saying for internal recordings 6700 has more DR with slog3 than xs20 flog. But with Pro res raw if i can get more room for recovery then I will go for this as my main use will be for landscapes with deep darks and bright sky. And i want to get the best results in these situations. What will you suggest?
if I'm shooting in Eterna (not f-log) in davinci color management do I select for Timeline color space: Rec.709 (scene) or Rec.709 Gamma 2.4? What is the Output color space?
I have an XT20 since 2018. I'm planning to upgrade to X-H2 or X-H2S. What's the advantage of these fuji flagships over a full frame camera? Seems like the full frame camera with nearly the same price are Canon EOS R8 and Sony A7IV.
The Fujifilm flagship cameras do have specs that those full frame may not. 4K/120, ProRes HQ recording internally, ProRes Raw Externally, for video the Fujifilms will be better options but really it comes down to your personal preference. Rent them all and see which ones you prefer.
Do you use autofocus or manual focus on your fuji cameras? I still have the xt-4 and I'm struggling to find good autofocus lenses. I think that I will try Viltrox lenses
Hey man thanks for the great video, as a Pro Photographer with an XH2S, I'm looking to move towards video, I'd really love to pick your brain some time on getting started.
