Oh, it must've been a glacial dam lake (GDL). Bear glacier near Seward, Root Glacier in Kennicott, Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, and several others in the state do that and release water in a Jokulhaup that drains the lake. You can look at the USGS cameras of some of them.
