My Phenix helmet is on the way from NH right now. When it gets in I plan on doing a good review of it. Thank you Phenix for doing what you do and thanks to Granite State Fire Helmets for being my dealer. Please like and subscribe my page!!!!
I fired less than 100 birdshot. The recoil absorbing spring system broke. The pin retaining the spring ripped through the mounting points rending the system useless. I contacted Black Hawk and said they would send an RMA number. After two weeks of contacting them I have gotten nothing resolved. Very disappointing, great concept and features but poorly executed, So far a wasted $100+ stock system. weak polymer points for the pin is prone to fail
I installed this on my 870, works pretty good. I put fifty rounds downrange in 15 mins. My shoulder and cheek felt fine. Read the shooting instruction tips the come with the stock BEFORE shooting and you should be fine.
I dont have vids of it but I have a maverick 88 (cheaper mossberg 500, like lincoln and ford) and I bought this and installed it a few days ago. I dont even have the NRS version and the pistol grip "reduced" (rerouted) a fair amount of recoil. However, I do agree with the popular complaint that the recoil is not reduced, just redirected. If you don't hold it with the authority that a shotgun deserves then it will easily kick back and upwards, hitting you in the face.
What is the difference between the Blackhawk SpecOps Gen II Adjustable Shotgun Stock and the Blackhawk SpecOps "NRS" Gen II Adjustable Shotgun Stock. The NRS seems to be around $40 - $50 cheaper. Why?
